    Drinking water lab testing

I think at this point, they aren’t attributing it to alcohol. But there is much follow-up with specialists to come. No on the sugars, and hard to say about pesticide exposure. The land isn’t really that great for crops.

    Drinking water lab testing

He is on a ranch with a well. Has been there for a very long time drinking the water, perhaps 30+ years. Worse than the well may be the old galvanized plumbing which might lead to heavy metal contamination.

    Drinking water lab testing

That is what my thirty seconds of googling told me. It does away with the minerals. Does that mean RO = distilled for automotive use?

    Drinking water lab testing

I was just shocked because my experience is in soil testing at $40 including the shipping. His health has been in decline for a while, but just recently became very serious. The doctor isn’t suggesting the drinking water, but his daughter mentioned it as a theory. I wanted to get the water...

    Drinking water lab testing

The RO not for drinking is news to me. I may have to search that up. I was contemplating it for me, as I have CKD. Our water is mostly fine, but the cleaner the better.

    Drinking water lab testing

Long story, but I have a friend that is dealing with some serious liver health issues, and one suspect is heavy metals in the water sourced from a well that flows through old galvanized pipes. Anyone here know of a good lab at a reasonable price? Just googling, prices are well over $100, and...

Getting very frustrated with ethernet cable quality

You need to buy from places that sell to industry and not Best Buy or Amazon. There are cheaper ones out there, but stick to brands like Panduit or Belden. I typically like solid core, plenum rated for spools. You can buy your own RJ45 connectors and crimp them on if you know how.

I just saw two very substandard movies

I usually rely on a 8.0+ IMDB score before I plunk down money to see something in the theater. Project Hail Mary was the last one I saw on the big screen. My son saw Obsession with a group of friends, and liked it enough that they went back to see it a second time. Having said that, there are...

    Mid-life crisis car plan

I have had one for a couple of years now. Revs to the stratosphere and arguably the best shifting transmission. You would fit perfectly (I'm 5'10"). Tons of online support, and Honda reliable. Fun and easy to work on. If you get one, there are a few common things to address, but if you...

In-Laws and poor financial choices - rant

Yeah, that is the biggest thing. It is like they get pleasure from doing stupid things with money. They have always had a shopping and hoarding problem. In fact, the house they built a few years ago has a four car garage. Two spots are just to store stuff they bought eons ago. I fear having...

In-Laws and poor financial choices - rant

I don’t. My wife (their daughter) tells them, but for some reason they are more likely to listen to her younger brother. But only selectively in this case. They bought the new car, but didn’t eliminate both existing which kind of killed any logic for this transaction. And all the dealer...

In-Laws and poor financial choices - rant

To clear things up, I’m not after inheritance. I have plenty of my own money. But I don’t do stupid things with it. The bigger concern is that they should be saving for their own care as they age. I’m not sure if anyone has shopped for mental care facilities, but they aren’t cheap. I’m not...

In-Laws and poor financial choices - rant

Anyone had to deal with parents that are older and that aren't smart with money? I never realized how bad my in-laws were until now. I knew, but this is really something. Part of it is that my MIL may be starting to have dementia and she is extremely resistant to change and has weird phobias...

Subaru Has 3 New Stick Shift Cars Coming by 2027

Taught my 19yo son to drive manual when he was 12. He won’t drive anything else for life.

Do you sometimes randomly pick up trash?

Yeah. I’m Indian American, and any decently well off family in India has someone to cook, clean, do whatever. Basic labor is so cheap. We aren’t neat freaks ourselves, but I try to live in a way that doesn’t burden others.
