Any headlight cleaner you would recommend... if you did a lot of them...

The problem is the fade comes back because the factory UV protection has been stripped away. The stuff that comes with the kits is short lived. Ceramics last longer, but I saw a video where the guy clear coated them. Probably a much more long term solution.

    *Investors Blog*

Hi All! I'm not sure if this should be a dedicated post, but I figured I would ask here. My mom died some years ago and since I have more free time now, I'm really trying to go through some of her investments to determine if I should hold or keep. I need a tool where I can easily see what the...

On death and dying and the aftermath

You may want to talk to an estate attorney. You can create a trust or do something to when you die, your assets go into a trust. You could donate the proceeds to a charity or an alma mater. A will may also work, but the attorney can give you the best method in consideration of your situation...

Anyone rent a car from Sixt ?

We have rented from Sixt at DIA a couple of times. In fact we just got back from a three week trip. Haven’t had any notable issues. If you know the general rental agency tricks, you are good. We had rented a X5 online, and the agent at the desk was trying to upsell us at exorbitant prices to...

    2014 BMW X3 Brake/Rotor Recommendation

I would recommend rotors that have a coating on them such that the non friction surfaces don’t rust.

    Waterless wash and wax

Use ONR and then use their Opti-Seal that doubles as a drying aid when you dry off the car with your drying towel. Just a couple of spritzes per panel as you go along. No extra work.

Hertz will scan your rental return with AI

I didn’t read every post, but I always inspect and photograph a rental at pickup and drop off. Includes interior and exterior as well as odometer. I haven’t had an issue with damage claims, but I have my own documentation just in case.

    Auto insurers and older cars

Have a really good PDR shop see if they can pull to get you 90% corrected. If the paint is messed up, they can weld on pull tabs too. Then get a good paint shop to paint and blend the area. You might even try yourself with a rattle can, clear, wet sand, and polish. If that bumper is cracked...

Living near Austin TX. Considering a move to TX.

The Dripping Springs area is quite nice. Lots of breweries and distilleries. Lots of new construction along Hamilton Pool.

Outdoor Faucet Covers- do they work and which ones?

I have a limestone wall, so it is very uneven unlike brick or stucco. So I use the insulated bag type that seal against the wall better. Those hard styrofoam ones hit a high spot on the wall and leave big gaps. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-King-2-1-4-in-Sock-Faucet-Cover-FC3/203221860

    911t One Season Review

I thought Barbie drove a Corvette ;). In all seriosness, I would have one if it wouldn’t scrape its nose up my drive.

    Attic Fan?

I should clarify this is a 2,200 ft single story house with an attic above the garage and living area. It is strictly attic with a hot water heater and the HVAC up there. There are the normal ridge vents, but it gets really hot up there. I haven’t measured temps, but it feels as though a fan...

    Attic Fan?

I’m planning for a new roof and considering metal for longevity. I’m also thinking it might be a good time to install an attic fan or two. Thinking of solar powered units as these seem popular. I would prefer something I can easily replace or service myself down the road without getting on...
