I don't know why manufacturers insist on powder coating certain parts. Well I do know, but it can be frustrating.
2019 boat and the black powder coating on the wiper arms started coming off in spots in ~2023, then sheets last year. After some touch ups, things...
Thanks.
Mahle makes excellent quality filters and unsurprisingly their China CoO filters appear as good as their Europe CoO products from seeing the several Porsche filters I have cut apart. I would not expect less from Mahle. That beings said, I avoid the China ones when I can but not for...
Came down w/ the pup to open up the house for the year, got in late. Stopped by the local market and the cashier rings me up, laughs and says "So, few days down without the Wife?"
Congratulations! Great effort and a sound career move; I believe that basic business training should be a part of most curricula.
I have many happy and fuzzy undergraduate memories from the Top of the Campus and fraternity row (when there was one):-)
Short of any specific requirements, my go-to lube for similar applications is Wurth HHS-K. Long lasting, OK with most plastics and rubbers. Importantly it applies as a low viscosity liquid that penetrates then sets up to a gooey, sticky and stringy film. Great stuff.
I'd run a quality 5/10/15w50 given the usage you describe, and a good xw40 would also be fine. Mobil 1 5w50 and 15w50 are very good off the shelf oils. If it were me, I'd use Redline 10w50 as that is my fleet oil for most of what we own.

The Boxster S after a Winter cosmetic refresh. 25 years takes its toll on soft items and plastic despite garaging and only ~60k miles. I picked at this, but finally finished refinishing/replacing all exterior plastic trim and replacing a few interior items such as the door compartment...
As others have noted, outside of unusual circumstances or just for entertainment, no decent oil should need an additive. Given how complex current oils are, I am very leery about adding anything to them. That said, I am running 2 bottles of LiquiMoly MoS2 (13 qt sump) as we speak at the...
