Switching to Bendix Fleet Metlok Semi-Metallic pads!

Pad does indeed have a good bite and pedal feel, however, I just took them off of a Lexus with several thousand miles on them due to squealing, fitment issues (loud clunking/grinding noises when braking due to the pad shifting in the caliper hardware) and a boat load of dust. I just started...

Negative experience with EBC Ultimax2 Brake Pads

Tires stop the car and make a difference when abs is engaged or the wheels lock on non-abs equipped vehicle but depending on the material of the brake pads, friction quality of the pad lowers the speed of the car and makes a difference.

Negative experience with EBC Ultimax2 Brake Pads

Maybe photos don’t paint the full picture, as the rotors were replaced at the same time as the pads.

How often should the wheels be cleaned?

Thanks! I’ll give them a try on another vehicle the next time I do brakes.

Negative experience with EBC Ultimax2 Brake Pads

This is both city and highway miles with 400 miles after the vehicle was washed. I’ve noticed that during more aggressive stops, there will be a thicker layer of dust on the wheels. This car is not driven aggressively by any means.

Negative experience with EBC Ultimax2 Brake Pads

I’ve mentioned it in my above post. However, the Street Performance are not available for all applicants like the ProAct pads are.

This is the brake dust after several weeks of driving.

Negative experience with EBC Ultimax2 Brake Pads

On that vehicle, the owner and primary driver drove for about 3,000 miles with those pads. The red transfer layer was gone after 1,000 miles when I initially took the brakes apart to inspect everything. The transfer layer is gone after 50 miles I’d imagine. Shims come with the EBC pads...

Negative experience with EBC Ultimax2 Brake Pads

Application: 2018 Lexus ES350 Installed these pads and new rotors on the front and rear of this vehicle after research on how to obtain stronger braking power on this non-performance oriented vehicle. While braking power was nicer with more initial bite than the original OEM brakes that were...

    Brake pads for a 2017 Lexus RX350

I ended up getting two free sets of Duralast Gold Pads. I can’t say I’m a fan but they are better than what was on there, don’t make noise despite this being a pad slap but do put out a lot of dust.

Tire Recommendation for ES350 Grocery Getter

General are usually a bargain compared to Michelin especially when rebates are offered. I’ve had good luck with the GMax AS05 which are more performance oriented but offer less tread life. I’ve had good service out of them on a Q50. Some years ago I’ve also liked Cooper CS5 tires which served...
