    Non alcoholic beer reviews

    Heineken is the only one that I've seen that does not have a "less than 0.5% alcohol" disclaimer.

    Buttermilk: yay or nay?

    Count me as an occasional drinker, as well as an ingredient in many recipes. Like @jhs914, I miss the butter-flecked buttermilk of yore.

    Tangerines + Lemons --> Marmalade

    It's the Orange Marmalade recipe from an older copy of the "Fanny Farmer Cookbook". I don't see an online copy of the book, nor an online version that looks much like this one. It's the first and only marmalade recipe that I've used. Hah! One of my sisters suggested that I get a booth at the...

    Tangerines + Lemons --> Marmalade

    I'm spending this winter in California. I've been given a lot of fruit and produce by neighbors and friends. One person dropped off 3.5 lbs. of tangerines from the trees in their yard. Another person across the street has a bumper crop of Meyer lemons this year. I wanted to see if I could...

    RIP Niklaus Wirth

    Algol was my second language, after Fortran. Pascal was my third or fourth. I taught Pascal for many years and would discuss Niklaus Wirth and the origins of the language on the first day of class.

    Safelite using wiper upsell to boost profit margin?

    I was offered the $60 replacement blades and installation when I made my appointment. I politely declined. It was never brought up again.
