Using Euro PCEO in 3.0L babymax?

Depending on the situation, engine temp would generally be higher with a 30w oil than it would with a 20w oil. I don’t personally think it matters all that much though. I doubt any of us could tell the difference as an end user.

Using Euro PCEO in 3.0L babymax?

My Iron count was 33 on a 5,300 mil interval. Castrol 0/20 is on the far left side. https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/2024-silverado-3-0-duramax-18-800-total-miles-5w-30-amsoil-diesel-oil-5-000-miles-used-oil-analysis.395892/page-5#post-7574162

Mobil 1 Oil Filter for New Toyota Camry

Do you think the OEM Ford filters actually filter better than their rating or is that number accurate? It seems really mediocre in comparison to something like a PG? Same with the Mobil 1 filters...their rating seems pretty weak compared to what it should be?

So are Purolator oil filters the replacement for Fram going forward? This was the Walmart isle at my nearest store.

Now that they are made in Korea, I wonder if the 30 micron spec is wrong? They look better than that?

Mobil 1 Advanced Clean game on at WalMart.

Wonder if its OG Advanced Clean or New Hotness Advanced Clean?

Using Euro PCEO in 3.0L babymax?

Its interesting, the 3.0 doesn't really seem to do better with higher viscosity oils. On my truck, the best wear metal numbers came from Castrol 0W20 Dexos D oil. The worst came from Mobil 1 ESP 5w30. That said, there is also a break in curve that contributed to that. I just send in a sample...

Using Euro PCEO in 3.0L babymax?

This isn’t really complicated. A ACEA C3 or C6 oil is fine. For reference, the most common non OEM oil FOR THE 3.0 is Mobil 1 ESP 0w20. It’s a C6 oil. Alternatively, ESP 5w30 is a C3 oil.

GM expanding dexos D approved oils

Functionally, I feel confident that any ACEA C3 or C6 oil is fine in the 3.0. I’ve run both and they don’t perform differently, overall.

CNN Article on Motor Oil Shortage

There is inherent momentum in a supply chain the size of Walmart. It’s likely a solid 30-45 days of inventory, based on refining cycles as they need ongoing shelf stock, but refinery cycles don’t perpetually produce all products every week. So, there must be volume in the supply chain to...

    Filter Quality

I wonder about Ford filters like the 500s. On one hand, the overachieve with a silicone ADV and base mounted bypass that is way more expensive than the plastic poppet on other brands. On the other…black glue and the lowest filtration specs on the market. Shockingly low numbers on actual...

Is Better Filtration "BAD" for your Engine?

I bought several PPE filters and I think they are junk. 1. Of 5, only 1 had an anti drainback valve that actually occluded flow. 2/5 literally flowed backwards as easily as forwards. 2. The media is the most fragile I have ever seen. I cut open the ones I used and it’s the only filter...

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 vs Castrol EDGE 5w30 Euro K

The new container has the ACEA A3B4 banner on the top left. The old one just had C3 on the back... A3B4 is higher SAPS than C3...usually a lot higher. In the absense of VOA, I am not seeing how it remains C3 *low to mid SAPS* and also A3B4 *High SAPS* The did make a Euro 5w30 that was...

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 vs Castrol EDGE 5w30 Euro K

I saw at Walmart, that Castrol euro 5w30k has changed chemistry. The old formula was ACEA C3. The new formula is ACEA a3/b4. That’s a significant difference in SAPS and affects using it in vehicles with certain emissions systems.

    Oil advice from Stihl ...

I think best is a relative combination of the fuel, oil, additives, and engine. I have seen 2 stroke that ran perfectly in my chainsaw, but wouldn’t run well in my trimmer. My Husky blower will run well on the most garbage 2 stroke ever…I’ve used 2 year old pump gas and cheap oil in it while...
