Balance Schmalance! It's all compatible and you can even run the OCI the same amount of miles as normal.
So I made a mistake running my engines 270k on frankenblends - then the engine gets used for thousands & thousands more miles - then supassing 300k ..... and that's wrong?....because of...
I would never go beyond 5k with that engine, or these dilution results.
That's me....... oil is still cheap..... even Amsoil. I paid $13 per quart and got free shipping.
Completely satisfied I got a good deal. So shop for the best oils you can afford and don't worry about the naysayers here. I...
Agree!!!
I had multiple engines go to junkyards in great shape, despite a badly rusted body after 20 years of road salt.
All I ever done since the 80s is make frankenblends and even after 270k, these engines were purchased at junkyards and went on to give more yearly road service to the new...
I'd venture at a more trusted Analysis place, this dilution number would be near 4. The 350 flashpoint backs up what I'm saying.
But hey, you're an Amsoil General and I got busted down from lowly Corporal. You know these grades better than I.
It's the base oil that carries the strength of this Mobil-1 ESP.
Definitely should be on someone's purchase radar, who's looking for a SP in 12.5 viscosity range.
Nice find Buster.
Are you sure this isn't the thicker Amsoil 0w30 Euro oil? Amsoil sells (2) different 0w30s in SP.
With that much fuel dilution (it's more than what Blackstone is reporting) you lost so little cst@100 viscosity.

Both my Royal Typewriter and Singer Sewing Machine under the hood are MIA. This engine is back to being mostly quiet.
Hoping things stays this...
I say that with plenty of confidence. It appears your engine is the oddball. Mobil-1 is #1 selling syn for a reason and that reason is not because it's economically-priced.
I'm not knocking your use of Valvoline and Quaker State. I have no qualms with any name-brand motor oil, when judging them...
I am in the early stages of being this way. I do less back-straining activities than you - like removing the underneath shield, changing the oil and oil filter. Becoming 'over-the-hill disgusts me.
Roughly 75% of us are going to a much better place someday. But I'm certainly not in a hurry to...
I've spent years brisk walking in both the high temp heat and low temp cold. My oxygen fight not only occurs in very warm weather, but also very cold weather.
