10W30 can be used but not 5W30. Why?

10W30 can be used but not 5W30. Why?

10W30 can be used but not 5W30. Why?

I have a copy of the car manual using this engine. Is there a way of uploading the scan?

10W30 can be used but not 5W30. Why?

Even this gasoline new engine comes with same unexplainable oil chart. For ambient temperature up to 40C, you can use 10W30 but not 0W30 or 5w30. As I said, this is contrary to my understanding of engine oils. http://funtastickodesign.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/proactive_issue_43_web.pdf

10W30 can be used but not 5W30. Why?

I have car manual which says: 10W30. For Ambient temperature -25°C to 30°C 5W30. For Ambient temperature not more than -10°C This is not the 1st car manual saying such things. Now, my understanding has always been, 5W30 should also be usable up to 30°C but apparently not. Any reason why? BTW...

Can you mix different brand OAT

Hi, Present radiator already filled with Texaco's OAT but I need to do some topping up. Not a complete replacement. Can I use other brand's OAT like this one from Shell? http://www.shell.com/static/my-en/downloads/shell_for_businesses/autotrade/coolguard_pds.pdf

    Toyota Long LIfe Coolant

Can you confirm? I thought Toyota Coolant contains 2-Ethyl Hexanoate whereas Honda do not wants it.

    Toyota Long LIfe Coolant

There is a 3rd reason: It's not available even at the local Honda dealer. I went there and asked to see what Coolant they have and they show me a no-name coolant with no indication of contents. I reckon I may as well use a branded Toyota Coolant instead. The other alternative would be to get...

    Toyota Long LIfe Coolant

----. I just put it into my old Honda Civic and I read that Honda does not want 2-EHA. What to do now?

    Toyota Long LIfe Coolant

Only that it's a glycol based coolant. Nothing on the Anti-Rust.

Can someone please tell me what's the exact chemistry beside Glycol? Thanks.
