    0W-20 Too Thin? I see no one could answer my question. I also see the group think is 0W-20 is 'too thin', with no evidence to support it. I know a few things about oil, but he knows more than me. Thicker oil isn't 'better' oil.

    I guess I was unclear. Ash is not a concern since I don't have a GPF. So if I choose to stick with a 0W-20 oil, Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 appears to meet or exceed all VW 508 specs except ash and dye, unless I'm missing something. That was my question. I wasn't asking if I could/should use a...

    Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 vs VW 508

    As far as I can tell, Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 meets or exceeds VW 508 for everything but sulphated ash 0.9% vs 0.8%. Obviously not dyed green. Since my Atlas doesn't have a GPF and I'm not the least concerned about 'protecting' my warranty, any specification I'm missing that would actually matter?
