I have not found valvoline anywhere locally for sale. Tractor supply shows it online but not in stores. I do recall the 10w30 maybe was the factory fill oil for Cummins several years ago.
I like their chassis grease. Red with gold flake. But their 15w40 I priced it with my TR rep and was 238.00 for 5 gallons if I recall, maybe 208….but it was twice what im paying for Kendall and my reps price gouging me for Kendall. I just couldn’t justify that for their oil.
Am I wrong to think that mobile is cheap cause of cheap products used? Everyone else inflates costs and mobile always seems to stay cheap. I don’t understand how or is my thought process wrong here?
I average 60-90k miles a year 10 gallons each change. 15k mile intervals. I’d like to go 20k but my engine shears oil fast. So I have to shorten the intervals. 15k seems to be the sweet spot with Kendall oil.
Good to know. I do know one local rep was pushing American refineries oil because it was made with Pennsylvania crude. But I guess in the end it just doesn’t matter anymore then eh? Just get a quality oil and move on
Looking for a lesson in crude.
Recently since I’m oil shopping. Several suppliers as well as friends have mentioned Pennsylvania crude. Such as “our oil uses Pennsylvania crude” or “Pennsylvania crude is a better choice for crude” or “X brand has used Pennsylvania crude for decades and it’s...
Thank you for the history lesson.
And YES the rep did mention DurMAX brand oil. I’ll be honest, until speaking with this rep I had never heard of either brand.
It’s likely you’re correct though, old name, perhaps new blend = street credit amongst some.
Reladyne for me, one person one...
Texas refinery I priced the others don’t interest me and TBH, the cost of TR is 2-2.5 times the big oil brands and unless I’m seeing 2-2.5 times the intervals it’s just not worth it for one truck. I do like the TR grease but may try certified labs next time
Thank you for the input on Drydene. As you know salesman push what they push to move product and to them every company is flourishing, so that why I ask info. And why it’s on the list is because one of the reps I spoke to is a dealer for that brand. I listed all the brands that were offered to...
Thanks for the info. I won’t lie I’ve been looking at that Drydene oil closely also. I’m going to call them tomorrow. It’s available locally but my engine still has an oil shearing issue so I’m curious if it would perform any better.
