Carter vs Spectra premium fuel pump assembly

Whoa... Just found out Carter Fuel Systems is out of business so their warranties are useless 😐. Just a heads up, don't buy Carter anything....

Carter vs Spectra premium fuel pump assembly

Great advice, thanks! I definitely don't want to go as cheap as I can... Would hate for the next buyer to regret their purchase. OEM isn't really in the budget at the moment, the truck also needs new tires, etc... It's good to know you had a positive experience with Spectra. I emailed them to...

Carter vs Spectra premium fuel pump assembly

I was looking at the HELLA 358300871, I really like the fact it has a micro filter on bottom instead of just a sock but I can't tell what that extra thing is on top of what it's for. The other models don't seem to have that... The TYC reviews are all over the place. Some say they're strong, well...

Carter vs Spectra premium fuel pump assembly

Specifically CARTER P76193M vs SPECTRA PREMIUM SP7128M for 01 dodge Dakota sport v6 24 gallon tank. Both are in my budget and are on Rock Auto. To be clear, this isn't a daily driver .. I'm fixing it up to sell, I just don't want to put total crap in there for the next guy. I know neither one of...

    2003 Highlander ... missing hose?

The photo I uploaded and the photo in the Toyota Nation link you posted looks pretty much identical. So it seems like it's safe to say this is just a drain plug to drain coolant from the engine... It's not missing a hose or anything like that, correct?

    2003 Highlander ... missing hose?

Ok cool... So nothing needs to be hooked up to it?

    2003 Highlander ... missing hose?

I was under my wife's 2003 Toyota highlander V6 FWD and noticed this. Directly under the car, around the middle. What is this part (circled in red) and should there be a hose or something attached (vacuum? Breather/vent?) Chat gpt said something about a breather on 4wd models but who knows...

2003 Highlander ... help identify the part that's leaking

Last question. I don't think the fluid has ever been changed. Is this a safe method? I've heard that flushing really old fluid can cause leaks because it removes debris and particles that help seal. I don't know if that's just an old wives tale but I thought I would ask before doing this...

Master pro vs Toyota reman rack and pinion

I thought I'd share what I discovered in case it ends up helping anyone else. Toyota doesn't make or have any remans for my particular model. Apparently,I'm in some "mid year split" where the r&p was changed mid year. The guy said that they're simply not out there unless I want to pull from a...

Master pro vs Toyota reman rack and pinion

Unfortunately, Toyota doesn't make new Ring and Pinion for 2003 Highlander. Reman is their only option.

Master pro vs Toyota reman rack and pinion

Thanks for the advice and feedback. 2003 Toyota highlander V6. The only new one I see on rockauto is this one. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/toyota,2003,highlander,3.0l+v6,1418341,steering,rack+and+pinion,7388 So you think getting a new Edelmann would be better than a reman Toyota? ...the...

Master pro vs Toyota reman rack and pinion

Are you saying that no matter who it is,if it's reman, it's likely assembled by the same hands?

Master pro vs Toyota reman rack and pinion

Not a single review for what I'm looking at on O'Reilly website 😐

Master pro vs Toyota reman rack and pinion

The Toyota reman rack and pinion only has a one year warranty (I'm not even sure Toyota is the one who actually remanufactures them). The O'Reilly's Master pro (also reman) has a "limited lifetime" warranty and will be significantly cheaper because of my mechanic friend's discount. I don't...

2003 Highlander ... help identify the part that's leaking

Both hoses have simple hose clamps but I'm thinking this is the one I use to evacuate the old fluid... The smaller one
