Car Ramps for low profile cars

Race Ramps are the way to go. Will hold 1500 lbs each and are light as a feather. Been using them for 5 or 6 years now and would not use anything else.

NAPA syn 0w20 engine sounds noisy- kia optima

Had the same noise problem with the wife's 2012 Optima with the 2.4L DI engine and I am running Mobil 1 0W-20 and a Pure One filter or Napa Gold Filter and this makes the car so quite I complain I never hear her pull in the garage if the door is open. I believe it is the oil that will quite the...

Anyone using oil extractor on VW 2.0 TSI?

Used one the first time I changed oil on my 2009 GTI TSI. Worked just fine. In fact I drained the oil last time from the bottom and got out the same amount as I did with the extractor. So I would say you are good to go.

    Review of Continental ExtremeContact DWS

I have the 225-45-17's on my wife's 2007 Nissan Sentra SER and really like them alot. Put them on about 3 weeks before our trip to Florida this summer and they performed great. Wet traction in the Fl afternoon downpours was fantastic! The only thing I noticed about them was the long break in...

    Proper brake pad installation ...

Pads should be a little loose when installed in the calipers. Remember that when you start to use the brakes they can get up to 900 degrees plus during use. And what happens to metal when it gets hot? Yes, it expands, so if you are snug when cold you will be tight when hot. I have always filed...

    How about a 'Rabbit-Golf-Rabbit-Golf' thread!

I had a 1983 GTI that I loved. Drove that thing like crazy all the time. Never had any major problems with it either. I traded it in with some where north of 95,000 miles on it with the original front brakes and rotors on it. Saw it at a club racing event a few months later and the guy that...

Cabin Air Filters (the forgotten filter)

I just changed the cabin air filter in my wife's 2007 Sentra SE-R at about 16000 miles. It was dirty but it could have gone another 5 or 6K miles. The next time I change this filter will be between 15K and 20K miles because of the location of the filter. It appears the HVAC people and the Body...

    Synthetic Nostalgia - Zenex

I think I used this oil back in '75 or '76 in my Celica. A friend of mine was selling it and another friend had used it in his Datsun 510 race car and his engine builder was amazed at how well his crankshaft and bearings looked after 10 or 12 race weekends using this oil. That sold me on it so I...

    A Simple Question

I have a mixture of MTL and MT-90 in my gearbox right now and have used Water Wetter and SI-1 fuel injection cleaner in the past.

    Nissan Rogue Air Filter

Reddog Filter swaps are easy as long as the new filter will fit in the plastic frame that holds the filter in the air box. It appears that sealing will be fine, I made sure to check that before I put it back together. Taking the top of the air box off is a snap. Just pinch the tabs on the sides...

    Nissan Rogue Air Filter

Update on the K&N filter, just put it in the Sentra and the K&N P/N 33-2036 fits like a glove. The plastic frame is a holder for the paper element so all you have to do is pop the filter out of the frame and put the new one in. The OEM number on the filter I took out is 16546 30P00. So I would...

    Nissan Rogue Air Filter

We have a Sentra SER with the 2.5L engine and I did some research on air filters and found some cross reference part numbers. Fram P/N CA6900 Wix P/N 46044 K&N P/N 33-2036 In fact I just received the K&N filter I ordered from AJUSA and will see if it will fit. The Sentra has a weird air box...

    New Car Story

Well the wait is finally over!! The Sentra is back!! The wife got the call last night that the parts came in and it was all fixed and ready to go. They had to replace the entire shift cable plus the ends (whatever that means). I didn't get to talk to the technican so all I can go by now is what...
