Battery operated lawn mower any good ?

Depends on what you want to spend. They have three main lines of electric ope. The professional stuff is awesome but your gonna pay for it. The entry level is ok for a townhouse and mid line would be ok on a small suburban lot. I love Stihl gas ope but I dont think their electric ope is nearly...

    Car overheating under different conditions.

If you can , use a Toyota OEM thermostat. Aftermarket thermostats can be hit or miss. In my experience its part that should be OE whenever possible.

    Please recommend a mower!

Look at the Honda HRN216VYA. It has the new GCV170 engine, blade clutch and pretty easy to use self propel. It is about $500, and has a two way ratchet design in the drive wheels. It will free wheel in reverse or forward when the self propel is not being used.

    Had a fun one today!

I ran into a 14 Optima that had a airbag wiring harness extension. It is/was a recall a few years ago. To perform this recall the center console must be removed. When I lifted the center console lid I was bit shocked and then could not stop laughing. The owner had placed her personal rear end...

    30K and Hyundai ATF?

I have seen the fluid and serviced many of these transmissions around 30k. My observation is that the fluid is discolored normally for that kind of mileage, but the drain plug magnet is totally loaded with metal. I would change it , I feel that the service manual recommendation is honestly to...

2012 Hyundai Accent SE Code P0326

Take it to a Hyundai dealer. Ask them to have a tech hook up the GDS. In the GDS under the ECU update tab there is Auto or Manual mode. When Auto mode is selected, all vehicle systems that have applicable updates come up. If the update has not been applied the engine icon will there. Next step...

Victim of a gorilla oil tech....

As a Technician , I have never seen anyone use a Impact on a oil drain plug. Its just not something that is done, I would have to imagine any tech caught doing so would be let go.

New HF electronic torque wrench - a game changer?

It says a warranty of 90 days in the warranty information. It looks like a good tool for the money, certainly a great addition to HF's lineup. Is it up to professional standards , time may tell. I know when I'm doing short blocks with tty head bolts, I trust my tech angle 100%. Doesn't Lowe's...

21 mm Impact Socket issue with impact wrench

I use a Matco 21mm thin wall impact socket. It's made in the USA, don't know the part number of the top of my head. I have used it professionally for 3 years on KIA's and Toyota's. It is along with the 19 and 22mm sockets are some of the best tools I have from Matco.

    Vacuum coolant filler?

Ive got the Airlift II . Its a universal fit tool that uses a cone rubber adapter. Its been pretty awesome, It fills efficiently , cleanly and thoroughly. Its not as nice as the one that clinebarger has , but I rarely use it on anything other than a KIA or Toyota. For my needs it has been pretty...

Annoying ATF fluid exchange on Kia Forte 2017

Annoying ATF fluid exchange on Kia Forte 2017

I have only done a D&F according to the repair manual one time. It took forever , fluid went everywhere, never did it again. Since then on hundreds of KIA's I have pulled the 24mm drain bolt, reinstall then remove the level plug and have used that as the fill port. The metal piece you see is the...

Honda stealership tried to upsell during airbag recall visit

So your upset and or shocked that your dealer recommended additional services? If you take you car into a dealership for a recall service, then they will also look over the rest of the vehicle. Its a fact that any service department makes its money from selling and performing services. The way...
