This was from a 20 or 21(I wasn't the one working on it) DT Ram, 3.6. Came in for noise in engine. Yep bad lifter/cam noise in right bank. Look at oil.....oops, none on stick. No sticker on windshield, change oil warning on dash. Ask cust, when last change was, come to find out, it only had 2...

Oil cant fix a metallurgy/machining issue.

Ive only seen one. Not sheared,,,,but bent. Showed as fuel trim issues....no timing codes.

Another one towed in last week with broken valve.

Nope....all low speed failures.

Dealer tech. Used to laugh at gloves, used to stick bare hands in pails of old nasty carb cleaner. But as I got older, dry cracked,bleeding sore hands are not fun. And I'm a clean freak anyway, so much easier to stay clean.

I'll be honest, seeing some other issues with 20-up. Seeing weird wear at pushrod/rocker interface. Ball end of pushrod chewed up/lifter pocket worn. Bad wear, that shows up as slight lifter noise., then when pull down, only issue seen is there. I assume lifter noise is caused by metal getting...

I got 10hrs on a new 24 hp in a ZT, works great, and oil still clear, works great. Quite a bit quieter(engine and exhaust noise)than the 24 hp Briggs. professional in my 2011 this replaced. Happy see how clean oil is staying....has not used any either.. Bros kawi in his ZT, was very ugly at 5hrs

Leave it....The housing cracks by wastegate, and you get a low boost code. They will go a long time like that. Look real close at plastic coolant housing at drivers side of head. They are bad for leaking. Use OEM only. Valve covers are common for PCV going bad. Stick OEM they are cheap. Plugs...
