    Some kind of... vapor?

Possibly some VOCs evaporating off changing the density of surrounding air giving a shimmery effect?

    Green brake fluid

Does this mean I have left it in too long that it is attacking the copper lines? It's only been 1.5 years since my last flush.

    Green brake fluid

Bled my brakes today and the fluid that came from the rear drums had a light green tinge to it. Any idea what would make brake fluid have a light green tinge?

    Leaking from radiator hose clamp

Ah looks like I have to replace them then. Any way to know how much to tighten. Afraid of over tightening which was never a problem with the clip types.

    Leaking from radiator hose clamp

I seem to have a small leak at the connection of the top radiator hose to the radiator. It seems to be leaking past the hose clamp. However the hose clamps in my car are those clip types so there is no way to tighten them. Is there any way to tighten these clamps other than changing them to...

DIESEL OIL USED ON GASOLINE ENGINES

I've been wondering about this myself. After reading this and considering where I live, does it mean I can consider using Rotella T6 as a cheaper replacement for GC?

Oil filters without silicone ADBV for long OCI

The filter says made in Indonesia. The filter is mounted at the bottom of the engine with the inlet/outlet holes facing up. Does that qualify as point down. My concern is the high ambient temps and hot oil temps wearing down the ADBV. Kinda like how rubber wipers don't last for long in...

Oil filters without silicone ADBV for long OCI

How important is a silicone ADBV for long OCI? I have several Bosch OE oil filters that have the regular rubber ADBV and plan to run them for 10k miles OCI using GC. Are these OE filters up to it?

    Operating temperature of ATF

Is there an ideal operating temperature for AT fluids like how MTF works better when it's warmed up. Cause I was wondering if I installed an ATF cooler will it 'overcool' the ATF and lead to poor shifting etc.

How often does the bypass valve activate

Oh I see so as the oil warms to temperature. The flow through the engine will be faster so there will be greater pressure differential at the filter. When fully warmed up the oil will also thin thereby reducing the pressure differential. Why I'm asking this is because I was wondering the effects...

How often does the bypass valve activate

Assuming I have a new oil filter with 0W-30 engine oil. Does the bypass valve always activate if I were to go into the upper rev ranges or does it only start to happen when the filter is clogged?

Hmm interesting. Why is it only happening at full lock. Could the wheel movement kinda trigger the collapse. If so then do I just replace those brake hoses at the wheels?

Perodua Myvi. Sold as a Daihatsu Sirion elsewhere. Power steering is hydraulically assisted.

    Interesting brake problem

Doesn't happen when everything's straight. I have power steering and power brakes. But doesn't the power steering use a power steering pump driven off the engine?
