2004 rx330 AC grind on first start

So I went to check the gap and hit a snag. It doesn't have an edge that is accessible to check the gap - that is, the magnetic clutch is inset to the edge of the pulley. I can see if there's a way to measure the inward physical movement/travel of the clutch on a scan tool commanded lockup, but...

2024 Sierra - changed rear differential and transfer case fluids

Not sure I understand the difficulty in finding the right spec fluid, unless it goes hand in hand with limiting customer access in repairing their own vehicles...?

I wasn't aware that Alma was a retired school teacher. But I remember the gates family. I remember I bought a used kicker component set from a local guy that competed for them that was down on his luck, and I was just trying to help him out by buying the set. Turns out the tweeters were blown. I...

2004 rx330 AC grind on first start

Compressor is silent while running. Ran the cold start test today, but gave her time to idle down to 600 before I turned on ac. First start of the day. No bang. Ill check clutch shim spec next week when I'm home.

Walmart Super Tech - has it been discontinued?

I was half frustrated after I cleared out all my local autozones for the Valvoline hybrid 0w20 @ $15 each. It was a good not great deal on a good oil. Now I'm happy I did. I can weather the storm and use up all this cheap oil, even if I'd rather be putting 0w30 or 5w30 in my Tacoma.

2004 rx330 AC grind on first start

I'm going to check the gap next week when I get back, but I am going to have the car started and let it idle down before AC is turned on after being off all night to see if the noise still happens. If it doesn't show up at 600 RPM, but it did show up when it was first started and idling at 1200...

2004 rx330 AC grind on first start

Apologies as Ive posted this a couple times on different forums, but hoping to get some informed opinions ... 2004 rx330. 175k miles 3.3 3mzfe with AWD. For a long time we heard a whoop sound in the dash occasionally - pointed me to the expansion valve. Had a trusted local shop verify the...

    Walmart oil prices - Ah!

I loaded up as soon as I saw the note about shortage and then bought a couple more when I saw the bulletin about base stock standards loosening.

Yes, that's why I attempted Koyo and Denso. The CSF was welded superior to both - and reviews in their internals are solid as well. I was really just disappointed with how fragile the neck attachment is on the Koyo / denso. The OEM relies on a gasketed plastic neck (or at least it was on the...

Soldering - inability to avoid cold joints

GEEBOON TC22 soldering station... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FC6GX9CC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Bought this to replace a weller iron. It's freaking AWESOME. But to OP, it's pretty clear that the vice is pulling heat away from the fitting. You need to hold the wire further down.

Csf installed today. Well build rad, I'll buy their product again. Thanks for all the insights on shipping woes. I totally knew if I bought OEM new and paid up for it that it would arrive packed very well and in great shape, but for this car I needed to save the couple hundred bucks between...
