    Yamada water pumps

Thought I would share this, the area that the tsb has you relieve on the 05 and up with a sanding disc is relieved as part of the cast in the 04. Interesting.

    Yamada water pumps

One thing that I'll add here is that the 04 and earlier J35a4 has a different part number for all of the timing components, including the oil pump. I realize there are a handful of noise complaints with earlier engines, but the vast majority seem to show up with the 2005 pumps.

    Yamada water pumps

This is really interesting, thank you for sharing. What year was the tkh-001 oddysey? I don't suppose you installed the tkh001 kit and ran it to see if there was noise before you installed the shim? Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like as the geometry & individual piece variation within...

    Yamada water pumps

On some Accords they recommended new water pumps but they don't say why. (Interestingly, the part for the 2007 accord points to an aisin water pump.... Not yamada). The faulty part according to the tsb is the mounting flange on the oil pump, not the water pump. You state that there is a shim...

2004 Honda Pilot 100k miles ATF Fluid Rec - Higher viscosity required?

Slack - Thank you - So I'm digging deeper into this Aisin WP problem and overall TB kit problems. (Issue is, I have the TKH-001 in hand, correct aisin kit for 03-04 pilot, the 05 and up use the TKH-002). Seems it's all over the place. Two issues? The chirp and the warbling? The chirp is...

2004 Honda Pilot 100k miles ATF Fluid Rec - Higher viscosity required?

I appreciate the feedback here - I'm honestly surprised to see such support for the OEM fluid. Seems like every other thread I'm reading about how it's a poor fluid, etc! I just reviewed the carfax and yes, it received the 30k service, the 45k service, there is an entry in 2017 at 80k where...

2004 Honda Pilot 100k miles ATF Fluid Rec - Higher viscosity required?

Good afternoon - Recently purchased a 2004 Honda Pilot. It's at 97k miles, and has had Honda service its entire life. The 90k (most recent) service included the trans fluid, however it's also recommended to change at the 105k mark. I think this engine is on its original timing belt (YIKES)...
