If PP gives you peace of mind then why not use it. I recently got a few jugs from WM for $20 each. Regular price of YB is around the same. Stock up on the good stuff when it goes on sale....or run to the closest Esso distributor and get some XD3 0w-30 for around $5.50/L...can't beat the price...
Thanks everyone. I already bought a can of antiseize lube with thoughts of doing this. I'll clean the wheels and mounting spots with a wire brush and try the antiseize when I change the all seasons to winter tires in the upcoming weeks.
Also bought a torque wrench on sale recently so the lug...
I don't know how many others have this problem, but my wife's Elantra is notorious for having the wheels seizing and nothing short of a 2x4 and 2lb minisledge can get them off. This doesn't take long either. Within a few weeks they are very difficult to remove, the back ones especially. I've...
I know that's what Hyundai's, Kia's and Mitsu's use. As far as Hyundais go, people warn not to use anything but the SP3 fluid as others will damage the transmission. I've done a drain and fill on my wife's Elantra with this fluid 3 times over the last few years. Yes it is on the espensive side...
I did some research on the power steering fluid recently. My wife's Elantra had a leaking high pressure hose and after it was replaced I wanted to flush out all the fluid and replace it with new. From what I was able to find out, lots of people are using regular ATF. I think you would be fine...

I read an article a few years back talking about this. IIRC something like 95% of cars sold in Europe are manuals, totally opposite trend here in North America.
I love my stick shift, and the fact that it was around $1000 less than the slushomatic.
My car - 2003 Toyota Echo with 189,000 km - Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 with maintenance dose ARX with Purolator PureOne filter.
Wife's car - 2003 Hyundai Elantra with 115,000 km - currently Pennzoil 5w30 YB with Hyundai OEM filter on AutoRX rinse phase. Will be going to PP 5w30 + ARX maintenance...
I'm glad I work into the US...best of both worlds. Bought myself a couple PureOnes last week for 6.77 a piece. Of course the Canadian dollar has taken a nosedive lately but still better than a Napa Gold for $12...don't even know where I could find a PPO in Ontario.
Well, decided to go with Brisgestone Blizzak's instead...a bit more pricey but I've heard really good things about them from reviews online and some people I know that have them.
Walnut shells, eh?
I got a set of Nordic IceTrac's from CT last year....noisy, but seem to be decent in the bad weather...especially compared to the all seasons. Any idea if these are pretty much the same thing, but with Goodyear name on them?
Hello,
does anyone know if CT's Goodyear Nordic tires are any good? Looking to buy winter tires for the wife's Elantra, and these are almost half the price of Michelin's X-Ice. I've seen decent reviews of Kumho winters but can't seem to find any places that carry them. Any other suggestions...
2003 Toyota Echo
M1 5w-30
8,000 km OCI
wife's 2003 Hyundai Elantra
GC 0w-30
6,000 km OCI, still under warranty
Switching both to Esso XD3 0w-30 at next oil change due to price and great reviews here.
