Thanks guys!
Highway MPG is approx 18. The regen cycles seems to kill the MPG.
Seems like the OLM is following the 10% per 1000 miles.
I think I'll change it this week, run another 7500 and then do a sample with TBN.
Purchased truck new in June of '12. First oil change at 2500 miles, I used delvac 1300 15w-40 and a Bosch Distance Plus oil filter.
This sample was done a few weeks ago with 7300 miles on the oil/filter, 9800 miles on the truck.
I did not change the oil at the time of the sample. Truck was...

I have an open pan that I can use, I will drain today and cut the filter open.
Thank you!

No towing at all.
I just drove it into work 32 miles. 20 of those miles on the interstate.
Oil pressure best I can tell by the [censored] gauge, moved up to 45 or so after start. Then just below 40psi for the drive at 80mph on the interstate.
Will pickup a magnetic plug.

Why are you running LL-04 oil in it? You should be running LL-01.
However, LL-04 will work with your fairly conservative OCIs...

Any metallic particles in used oil and/or oil filters? Look under the noon sun.
Closed top oil pan and the oil is gone. Filter went out...
At approx 2k miles I changed it myself using Valvoline SynPower 5w-40 which meets BMW LL-04. I have another 6 quarts left of it from an Amazon deal last year. I will change it again at 7500 miles. BMW will of course change it once a year or every 15k, so I will continue to change it at 7500...

Silicon is above uni avg (maybe cuz of K&N). but not high enough to cause this wear IMO.
Tho it seems from the uni avg, this engine seems to shed more metals than most
hopefully it is just build up...

Should I test at 10 or 20k if doing 5k oci?
TIA!
I'm sure this has nothing to do with it, but I will mention it anyway. I installed K&N air filter at 5k miles and today with 58k it received it's first cleaning. The filter was not very dirty at all.
