Would a Fram be bad for my Jetta?

Yes, a FRAM would be bad for your Jetta. Euro applications appear challenging for the FRAM design team. Stick to the German OEM manufacturers for your filters. Amazon is a good source.

    Fram Core filters any good

Bottom of the barrel filters. I'd pick up a Wix built Super Tech for a $1.80 more next time.

    STP S9972 and Purolator Boss PBL25608 2011 Rav4

Good looking filters. I wouldn't hesitate to use either on your RAV4. The last FRAM Ultra I installed on my Camry had some suspiciously wide pleat spacing. Clearly a QC issue. We'll see how it looks at the end of the OCI.

    Canister filter surprise. Cts 3.6

Quite a few failed FRAM filters in BMW and other Euro cartridge applications have been posted on here in the past. But I've been using FRAM in my Camry cartridge filter application for a number of years with good results. I'd stay away from FRAM in more rigorous duty applications like your...

What's up with Mobil deserting the LL-01 market?

I know it's a dead horse. But it stuns me that M1 turned its back on its customers here.

    Canister filter surprise. Cts 3.6

I think you have a poorly designed aftermarket oil filter there. Try an OEM filter and compare the results. Please remember to post a photo here of an AC Delco at the end of the next OCI.

On Mobil's website and thought I'd query their "Find the right oil" for my BMW application. This came up... "Based on what you've told us, your vehicle manufacturer recommends a 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30 or 5W-40 viscosity and oil that meets BMW Longlife-01. We currently do not offer any motor oils...
