I use 5w-30 in a high mileage Camry. It does consume oil. I found no real difference in consumption between 5w-30, 10w-30 and 10w-40. Currently using Total Quartz 5w-30 synthetic. Less engine noise at start up using the current 5w-30 oil and engine runs really smooth on this oil.

Motul's 8100 series is made for daily use. They have more then one 5w-30 in their 8100 series. The 5w-30 X-Max being the thicker one.....if that is what you are looking for

Which one of Total's 5w-30s was used in the Peugeot? They have several. The one I bought, INEO MC3 5w-30, is like Mobil's 5w-30 ESP. My understanding is that some of their synthetic oils have group III as a base oil...but not all of them. INEO MC3 5w-30 is PAO

It might be a bit early to draw a firm conclusion if edge is worth the price.....for me, it would depend on well it works when compared to other oils. At the current price, 4 qts are cheaper then dinner out for two in the city I live in or to fill my gas tank....($3.29 gallon)

I have seen the German Lubro Moly oil for sale in Napa Auto Parts. As far as the others on your list, they are for the most part available from online sellers. Fuchs Titan might not be for sale in the USA though
