    Anyone else scared of heights?

When I was younger, heights never bothered me. In my teens I climbed cliffs and even went through jump school at Fort Benning in 1971. After the Army I became a firefighter, so rappelling down ropes felt natural. That changed at one point. While fixing a tile on my roof, the ladder slipped and...

Why You Should Collect Your Garbage Bins Promptly

I make sure to bring my can in soon after it’s been picked up because too many times neighbors have thrown raw garbage into my clean can. I pre-bag everything unless it’s just dry leaves, and I don’t want to smell garbage or deal with flys.

    No more V6 Durango

I had a great experience renting a Durango in Florida, so when I got home, I visited the dealership and sat in one on the lot. To my surprise, it wasn’t as comfortable as I expected. I believe it was a fully loaded Hellcat version, but the leather seats were firm and not very comfortable. I then...

Do you replace oil drain plug washer...

I’ve been replacing the washer on my drain plugs since the 1960s, and it’s never left me without food or clothes. 🤷‍♂️

Premium Guard PG6161 — Cadillac ELR

I absolutely detest dealership service departments. On my current Chevy SS, I’ve had three out of three services where they consistently messed up something that necessitated me returning the car. Each time my car was in there, it took the entire day, despite their assurances that it would only...

How do you choose an oil filter?

I just follow the trends on this forum and go from there. 🤷‍♂️

    1965 442 value guidance

I’ll be 72 next month, so I get exactly what you mean. The passion is still there, but the calendar has a way of keeping me from taking on anything else. Then again, I may have to drop in a new engine into my current SS. 🤷‍♂️

Discover email reference closing my account

Hello GON, I let a few accounts fizzle out, and honestly, I’m cool with it. I’m just not feeling the shopping vibe these days, so I gave those accounts the boot. Whether it nudged my debt score (or credit score, as some folks say), I’m not sweating it. I’ve got one last Synchrony account I’m...

HPL July 4th Sale - What Do You Plan on Buying?

I’ve been using P-PCMO for a few years now, but this time I’m planning to switch to PP-PCMO. My LS3 takes 2 gallons to fill up, so I’m still deciding whether to get one or two cartons. 🤷‍♂️

Plastic grille crack fix, weld, glue or ???

Never been much of a Corvette guy, but if I was, this would be the one for me…👍

How much difference does oil really make?

I don’t drive much these days, so the cost of high-quality oil doesn’t bother me. When I do get behind the wheel, it’s usually a 400 mile round trip and well worth it for the peace of mind. 🤷‍♂️

Anyone Here With A Reverse Mortgage

As a last resort I guess it’s okay. My neighbor took out a reverse mortgage, and it completely wrecked their finances after the elder family member passed away. The daughter ended up having to refinance, and now she’s so deep underwater it’s hard to believe. In my view, a reverse mortgage is...

What makes you like where you live?

I like where I live after 42 years. That wasn’t always the case, because when I first moved here, it looked more like a nuclear test site. These days, it’s a fairly safe town, especially where I live about 12 miles away from the riffraff. It’s modest compared to some of the photos I’ve seen...
