    Help with 4l80e Build

So thanks for all the help so far! Hopefully this will be my last question. So I’m finishing up the build and seem to have maybe hit a snag doing the front end play. So when running a straight edge across the pump mounting surface, I have about .040” of clearance to the overrun thrust washer...

    Help with pesky oil leak

So I pulled the rear pan to cover bolts and the two rear most pan bolts and the threads are soaked with oil and I can see this is the source of the leak, well I’m pretty **** sure. Idk how it’s leaking or why but I put a little RTV on the threads just to see what happens. Thanks for all the help!

    Help with pesky oil leak

I’m glad you brought up the pcv system as I overlooked that as a possible cause. At the same time I put the engine back in I switched to a Mighty Mouse catch can system. Gonna investigate this further on Friday and the oil pressure sensor is in the back of the valley plate

    Help with pesky oil leak

I mean I’m not positive but I can’t find any other evidence of oil above the pan and really it only shows on the pan bolts and oil filter and a little on the back of the pan. I can pull the flex plate since the trans is out but I can’t see it migrating from the rear main to the bolts especially...

Since then oil has been accumulating on the pan bolts and dripping. I’ve spent a lot of time under there searching for a leak but have...

Hey @clinebarger, since dura bond bushings are impossible to find, are the 03131BRS bronze bushings an acceptable replacement for the sungear and overrun clutch bushings? Thanks

    Help with 4l80e Build

makes sense now! would this cause the overheating issue? It came up to temp normally then would just take off from about 180° and hit 230+ before you could find a place to pull over yea the FTI was in there when I bought the truck so I never wanted to spend the money on a new one but maybe I...

    Help with 4l80e Build

Yea, very possible. Converter is at FTI now just waiting to hear from them once they crack it open. The Tcc is actually what caused the issue that required the most recent rebuild

    Help with 4l80e Build

So thanks in advance to any help I can get from the knowledgeable people on the forum! After being jerked around by some “reputable” shops I’ve decided to rebuild the trans myself. Vehicle is a 2008 Silverado 1500 single cab short bed Around 700rwhp. Coming off an alleged freshen up the...
