Thank you guys! So now that I understand that the W part less matters for the winter where I live. Maybe there's still a reason that they recommend the 20 part? But will 20 protect as well as the 30 in a 35c summer? I guess in my case this part is more important then I wonder if I should try 20...
Then looks like I can stick to 5w30. I was afraid about flow in the winter, close to 0c temps but you said it should do well there.
Then, out of the two, eco-lite or eco-clean, is any of them seem better?
Or you have a completely different recommendation that meets the specs above?
Haha it's the only one that is "not recommended" though
Thank you, what I don't understand is, why they write it like other oils are only "temporary"? They say as if you should use 0w-20 always and others only for one oil change ("however it should be replaced in the next oil change").
Hello
I recently changed oil to Motul 8100 5w30 Eco-Lite.
I have a Citroen C1 which is a Toyota Aygo so I found the service manual for the Aygo in my region. It says 0w-20 is recommended and filled in factory but that also 5w30 is allowed.
This is from the manual (I took the manual from...
Thank you guys! Oil and filter changed today and I'm going to keep an eye on which one is the reason: sludge or just too long passed since last service, or worn cylinders
Hello,
I got a car with some dark oil and I think it wasn't treated well, i.e. oil not always replaced on time and sometimes out of spec oil was used, and now the oil looks dark and I assume some dirt has accumulated.
I was thinking that in the next year I'll do more oil changes.
Instead of...
Hello,
Watching the video on how to change oil for my car, they mention I should use a pre oil change cleaner: (at 1:00)
Now I never did that, but if I use that every now and then, does it really do anything?
Thanks
Israel,
What about Motul 8100 eco-lite: https://www.motul.com/ru/en/products/8100-eco-lite-5w30
It's API SP, does it mean it is backwards compatible with recommended API SL, SM or SN as recommended by the Toyota manual? (Although not SPA B71 2297)
Hello,
I'm pretty lost as to which oil I need for my Citroen C1 2018, with 1KR-FE engine (68HP)
First, I contacted the Citroen importer in my country and they sent me their maintenance information which showed 5W30 with standard B71 2297.
The, I found the twin car Service book - The Toyota...
I've been told many different answers so I am still not sure what to get.
And even the manual lists a few options. I can't find Renault's special "RN700" so I'm not sure what to get instead.
Also, what is the oil change interval for that car?
Thanks!
