    Toyota Corolla 1fezz engine noise

Hate to sound like a dealer but that is the way it is. I have a 98 Corolla with the same engine and it makes that noise. I also had a 92 Corolla that didn't. At cruising speed thought, the newer corolla is definitely more quiet. I've also been next to countless similar corollas on the street...

    OCI-3,000 mile/Synthetic

Yeah, I'm really upset Toyota went down to 5k OCI from 7500 while Honda went on to 10k. I hate having to do 5k OCI on my Corolla just to keep the warranty. 50k more miles to go on the warranty.

What oil for 95 Integra GSR?

I had a 95 GSR. Temps in CA where I am average 85 and few trips into triple digits over the course of a year. I went 5w30 cheapest pepboys dino all the way to 144k when she was murdered by an 80 year-old man who didn't know what brakes were for. I actually did 7500k OCI's because I was doing...

    5w20 oil in 200k engine

Before I started coming to this forum I used mainly Fram and Chevron up to 100k miles. After reading the horror stories about Fram, I switched over to Proline filters which really surprised me since they were almost half the cost. ($5 vs $3) And that's when Pepboys started stocking Proline oil...

    5w20 oil in 200k engine

Yes, I have the 1ZZFE engine. The Corolla was all new for the 1998 model year. MPG hasn't changed at all but I've only filled up twice which is around 33 mpg. I used the cheapest oil and cheapest filter at the longest interval for 8 years. You think I will pay for an oil analysis? I guess I...

    5w20 oil in 200k engine

I've finally switched over to the "other" side. I used cheap Proline 5w20 oil my last oil change on a 1998 Toyota Corolla with 206k miles. The car has seen regular 7500 OCI since new with the cheapest brand 5w30 oil I could find at the local Pepboys which happens to be Chevron or Proline. Loses...

    7500 mile oil changes?

I do the 7500 OCI on my 98 Corolla. I mainly do it because that is what the owners manual says for regular service. It coincides with 30/60/90 major tuneups so it is convenient. I'm now at 175,000 miles and haven't had any problems yet.

Auto-RX in 92 Toyota Tercel Oil Drinker

My car is a an abused 1992 Toyota Tercel 1.5 litre w/ 197,000 miles on it. If lucky, it gets an oil change every 10,000 miles. It's been drinking 1 quart of oil every 500 miles. There's a puff of cloud when I start it each morning, other than that it is ok. I've tried just about everything to...
