    Hyundia oil recommendations

I use QSUD 5W-30 in my son’s Kia Soul 2.0L here in hot San Antonio. I am doing 5k intervals and it uses about a quart over that interval. Some have had excessive oil consumption, but ours has been reasonable. We check the level every other week to be sure. It has about 85K miles on it now...

    Amsoil SS 5w30, Supercharged Ford F150 5.0, 6000 miles

Good report. If this was my truck, I would use Amsoil or Redline 5W40 or 0W40 given you are running it hard.

Possible basic, stupid question about oil filters but would like to know

I would use the Subaru OEM filter. Is yours a turbo or normally aspirated? If turbo, are you aware of the oil screen clogging issue with these? Subaru reduced and backdated the oil change intervals on the turbo EJs due to clogging. Given you don’t know the oil change history, you might have...

2020 Jeep Wrangler Eco Diesel Oil Dilemma

On the 2020 Ram 1500 with the 3.0 Turbo Diesel, Amsoil recommends the Euro ESP 5W-40. I guarantee you it is because the emission control equipment on the newer engines was likely updated, or the high ash oils were damaging the emissions systems. The November 2019 Automobile Magazine has a very...

    Calling Mazda 2.5L Owners

I currently have a 2015 Mazda 6 2.5 and I do 10k oil changes on full synthetic 5W30. It was using about half a quart every 5k on 5W20. 5W30 reduced that consumption in half. I get about 28 mpg. I previously had a 2008 Mazda 3 2.3 and it was also on 10k OCI and in 200k miles did not ever...

2006 Jetta TDI 5-speed with 324K miles in Florida

Blue book is $4000, people want these since they are no longer sold. You are clueless. Diesel miles are not equal to petrol miles.

2006 Jetta TDI 5-speed with 324K miles in Florida

These cars can easily bring his asking price. You can see it has been meticulously maintained. Blue book is well over his asking price and they aren’t for sale anymore sadly. GLWS!

    WRX Opinions

First, in order to provide real assistance, we need to know how you will use a WRX or STI. Daily commuter, weekend toy, track events? I have a 2015 WRX that is used for track events like time trials and HPDE. It is a Cobb Stage 1 tune and some suspension upgrades, plus tires and wheels. 35k...

Just get one of the kits from Wal Mart. I have used 3M and Sylvania. Both worked well. Follow the directions carefully for the best results. Not difficult at all.

    Random 340,000 mile pic

His signature block says a cocktail of Mobil 1 and Redline. These motors don't care.

    Subaru Quality Strikes Again!!!

I am sorry your experience has been so negative and can understand why you feel the way you do. Have you attempted to go to alternate dealers or above the dealership level for relief? My family has six Subaru's, including two Foresters, and all six have been bulletproof. I replaced my AC...

What's the temperature in your area today?

Heat index was 105F today in San Antonio! I changed the oil in my WRX today in the garage and it was 93 in the shade!

    2017 Forester

Subaru shortened the OCI when some motors were found to be oil burners and folks were running 2 quarts low at 7500, which for many becomes 8000+ by the time the get around to taking it in. My 2005 Forester XT had its OCI reduced to 3750 when many of the turbos were losing engines due to clogged...
