I top off with the 5w-30 in the winter and 15w-40 in the summer. Truck smokes a little at startup if it sits for a couple of days, but it doesn't smoke at all during cruise or hard accelleration.

The only thing I did was add the Banks Bighead. Looks like I might be getting a new Banks Turbo.

If you drive 20,000 miles per year and plan on keeping the vehicle for 7 years then get a diesel. The 140,000 miles after 7 years is about half of the life of a diesel engine where a gas engine is about done. My 2003 Jetta TDI 5 speed manual averages 50 mpg with 80% highway.

I've been using Amsoil 5w-40 im my 2003 Jetta TDI for the last couple of 12,000 mile OCI's and analysis show my iron way over 100 as well. I think I'm going to switch back to the 15w-40

I had gone a little over 67,000 miles without and oil change on my 1999 F250 7.3L using Amsoil 15w-40 before it was stolen. Changed the filter every 7500 miles and the engine would use a quart every 3500. The TBN never went below 10.

I burn my used oil in my '82 Kubota diesel at about a 50/50 mix and some Power Service. I sometimes add about a gallon plus some Power Service to a tank in my 2000 F250 7.3L Powerstroke if I haven't been using the Kubota much. The engines seem to run the same with or without the used oil.

I have been using "Big O" tires on my vehicles for 5 years now without any problems. Just put some of their MT's on my jeep wrangler and really like them. Use the XT's on a F250 4x4 and Euro Tour on a Jetta TDI.

I just put 10,000 miles on some Amsoil 5w-40 in my 2003 Jetta TDI, I'll send in a sample this weekend.
