How is the 40 degree C measured, confused.

Changing your oil viscosity will not help your piston slap. Piston slap occurs when piston cools and the metal shrinks and the is more gap between the piston and cylinder wall. So oil will not keep you piston from shrinking. I believe manufactors do this to cut costs on materials. Your best...

I have not been impressed with Mobil oils

Ive been running mobil oils for the last 16 years in my vehicles. My 07 Accord currently has Mobil Super and it runs just as quiet and smooth as mobil 1. Now last year I tried Quaker State Synthetic. Thought it was a bargin since it was the cheapest brand name synthetic on the shelf, and my...

    NEW TOYOTA!

Sounds as if I can get screwed at the dealership for a bulk oil change when i can do a synthetic myself for about 30 bucks. Ive decided it will have either M1 0w30 or a 5w30. As for the 2005-06 2tr engine called for 5w30.

So what your saying is that if I take the time to drive to the dealership, which is a 90 mile roundtrip, I could be getting a bulk oil change for it and not a synthetic oil which what they are reccomending?

    NEW TOYOTA!

Well last week I swaped my gas addicted GMC Sierra for something a little more easier, a new Toyota Tacoma. Well doing a little research about this truck is that it does call for 0w20. Which is only synthetic oil. And when Toyota produced the 2TR-fe engine for the 2005 model year they call for...

I have been wondering what is everyones take on Lucas engine oil treatment. I have read that it is 100% petroleum, so it should not do any kind of damage.
