The cams do sit in bearings, but I have removed the balance shafts so no bearing there I am going to double check my intake tonight. I bought a new case of redline and the label has changed from the previous red label to a blue label..just for marketing or did they change the formula?

My hope is that I didn't mess up the cam install and the bearings there are wearing now...My hope is that it's just a lot of highly stressed motor from a day at the road coarse which caused the increased wear..

Here is my latest sample including my sample history. So running the oil longer + a track day could lead to higher lead number? What about the silicon number? Shouldn't it have dropped down from the previous oil change (on the previous oil change I changed my camshafts) DAVID: Lead increased...

    Q..wrong weight oil in engine

I change the oil for my girlfriends 96 Camry V6 engine w/ 10W30 all the time. We get the Chevron dino oil since it's cheap at Costco and has good oil analysis results. Last time she was at Costco I wasn't there and she bought a straight 30 weight oil which I put into her car w/o thinking. Now...

Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, 1949 miles on oil,, Redline 10W30

Thanks guys. I have all my historical data, it's all in the forum..next oil change I'll include all of it. I have Blackstone analyze it. Yes I had to use RTV or sillcone gasket sealant around the corners of the valve cover as well as the timing chain cover. I'm glad you guys think it's OK I...

I changed my camshafts to performance ones, than ran about 600 miles before changing my oil. I changed so soon as the new camshafts probably caused greater engine wear while they were breakign in. Also just in case any dirt got into the head while doing the install. As you can see aluminum...

    Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V 5138 miles. Redline 10W30

Well I sent off my next analysis w/ around 2000 miles on it. I swapped my camshafts with more aggressive ones and I ran about 600 miles on the oil with the new camshafts...so most likely we will see wear as the new camshafts mate with the bearing surfaces and valve lifters...

DAVID: We think it was a good time to have this oil changed. Whenever major work like an intake manifold gasket is preformed, we suggest changing this oil right after and then again in another 500 miles or so, just to make sure all of the abrasive material gets washed out of the system. In your...

I'm doing it for 3 reasons 1) trying to find a good drain interval (extended drains) 2) as a precautionary measure. if anything slowly goes wrong in my engine that I cannot feel, I'm hoping it will show in the oil. 3) curiosity. i would like to know how my engine is doing and have stats on it...

it's the oil filter from a 2000 maxima (the VQ30DE engine) if physically fits the 2.5L sentra filter point, and offers better filtration area (it's a bigger filter) mine is an 02 spec v

well say you are at a high rpm and you are not on the gas at all, so the engine is winding down. this creates a vacuum effect (exhaust gas reversion) they had a recall on the motor because of it, and they changed the ignition or cam timing on that condition (high rpm, no throttle) so that the...
