I picked it up yesterday. This was the first time I sat on her.
This was a long time coming. Kurt Smith has a 2-3 year waiting list. When I heard that turbo whistling, we both giggled like school boys.
She started off as a well-used Kubota B6200 and it was used as a base to create this half scale International Harvester.
I just got her home. Yes, she's turbo charged.
IH Wheatland 806 FWA. She's a beauty!!
Astro14: The logic was that if it was an oil related issue that wiped out my cam, perhaps some oil passages were blocked with crud/sludge. And the Kreen might help remove some of this material that could be choking the proper lubrication of my valve train. I don't think a dose of Kreen in...
You guys are funny as heck.
I didn't mean to start anything. But I can hear my valve train later in an OCI and it's quiet at the beginning. That's all I was saying. Carry on.
My son was just home for Easter and I finally got a chance to drive the car. Now I see why people like these little MX-5's.....it's a glorified Go-Kart!! Very fun!!
I was impressed at how well the manual functioned. Very smooth.
It's not needed. I still hear the engine running nice and quiet. Once the oil gets 3-4k miles on it, the engine will begin to get noisy again.
I do 5K mile OCI's because at 160k miles, I had to replace the timing chain and everything that touches the timing chain because of long OCI's...
Stopped at my buddy's shop and picked some filters for me Silverado and Accord. I'm a sucker for M1R 0w50.... I love blending a quart or two into some M1 0w30/40 in my Honda. $160 OTD. He hooks me up.
Why is it that a fresh oil change in my Honda always results in a buttery quiet engine and as the miles rack up (in only do 5k mile OCI's) the engine gets noisier and noisier? Mostly ticking.
I'm running 5w40 HPL SuperCar in my 2010 Honda Accord with 270k miles
Following dnewton3's recommendations, my son just had his car wrapped by a small home shop on the north side of Indianapolis. Before the car was wrapped (every surface with forward facing exposure has been covered), all chips were professionally corrected. We are very happy with the results
I'm getting these filters from my friend who owns a HP Race Shop. He's gets "credit" because he's sponsored by RP and runs their own and filters on his race machines. He's just doing me a factor and passing on his savings. They are legit RP's and brand new.
What is the consensus on these? I've been running them on my truck, I can get them for $10. So decent price.
But are they still considered very high quality filters on the forum?
The truck was serviced last week. New manifold bolts and gaskets. And all the gaskets throughout the exhaust system.
The next day I pulled a big trailer 2k miles through the mountains and no CEL. I hope it's fixed. They reused the same manifolds.... and used fresh GM bolts.
Ok!! Thanks. I didn't know that. The truck had already had 2 OCI's with SuperCar and then 3 with No VII before it got it's first dose of EC.
I'm mostly running the EC in my Honda. She had some varnish from 10k OCI's I need to take care of.
