    Mavis to buy Pep Boys

My biggest complaint was how every Sunday they'd have a full page of coupons in the Chicago Tribune, but none of the stores would honor them.

    Odd Car Names

Camry. Millions and millions sold and the name still looks like a typo.

Good Car Bad Car - VW making the tough business decisions

I think the novelty of having it back on the market would wear off really fast.

    Vintage AC Delco PF47 (1990?)

Interesting that the box says it's for the GM V6 (except 2.8L). That's weird, because PF47 is/was specified for a LOT of 2.8 cars. Lots of us use the longer PF52 instead, but the owner's manuals say PF47.

House passes bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent

I agree 100%. The difference in sunrise/sunset times in June vs. December is significant. Where we place the clock is going to be a compromise no matter where we put it. People are going to complain. The system we have right now is fine with me. It takes me about two minutes to change my...

Does anyone answer emails these days?

I've gotten to where I loathe work emails. All too often, if a client gets my email address he abuses it by including on every email chain wherever possible. Suddenly my inbox is filled by clients and contractors discussing the minutiae of where they are going to place the silt fence. It has...

    Stuck O2 sensor

I've had to resort to this item a couple times: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KHWHS4G?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title It's a larger version of those special sockets you use to remove rounded-off lugnuts. Be aware the oxygen sensor is too tall to fit inside the socket, so you have to break...

new RX350 - First oil change and wow tight filter

Similarly, I buy the OEM Tokio-Roki filters for my WRX. Plastic film sealed, and greased rubber. I don't add any additional lube. I'll have to take a closer look at one next time. I'm not sure how much I compress the seal, but fortunately they seem to seal well.

    Member ‘Eljefino’ around?

Was he the one with the Volvo with the long-overdue timing belt and the belief that an "Italian Tune Up" will cure almost any automotive ills?

    Member ‘Eljefino’ around?

That's the guy. He's still active on Garage Journal, so who knows, maybe something happened to cause him to leave here. I recall he boasted once that he was on something like a thousand forums, so it's probably tough to keep up with all of them.

    Member ‘Eljefino’ around?

Whatever happened to the guy who'd drive cross-country and stay overnight at a motel to save fifteen bucks on shipping for various used auto parts he bought? Or the guy who'd go to war with anyone who said anything blasphemous about Toyota?

    Sold my 2021 Altima "accidentally"

LOL I misunderstood it as he asked $58K for it and apparently got it! Quite a deal.
