VW workers in Tennessee vote to join UAW in historic win for Detroit union

If it gets too expensive to manufacture in 'the South'...the companies will move further south....as in Central or South America. Make no mistake about it....the push to 'globalism' will make some people better off but it won't be working class Americans.

Newsmax has become more popular because the vast majority of 'news outlets' are so far left and also biased and dishonest.

Outsourcing to foreign countries? PS: I'm not anti-union and believe they are often needed but in my experience the vast majority of 'union bosses' are just politicians who are in it more for themselves than for their fellow union members.

Does anybody know if the UAW bosses like Fain get paid by union dues or by the car manufacturers or both. I know in some 'public sector' unions the union bigs receive their salary (despite working full time for the union) and a big stipend/salary from the union (paid by union dues).

I agree that CEO compensation has gotten way out of hand. The UAW workers want raises to keep up with inflation, A big part of that inflation is the huge rise in energy costs. A big part of the rise in energy costs can be attributed to the policies of the political people the UAW support....etc...

Should I use PH7317 Fram oil filters or throw them out?

I'd use them......but.....I have seen many Fram EG's (orange cans) with very wide, uneven pleat spacing. As I've said before....it's amazing that Prime Guard/EcoGard can make a filter with evenly spaced, non wavy pleats and sell it for $2 but Fram has trouble doing it at double the price. At...

I read that the recently settled UAW contract will cause the price of domestic vehicles to rise by about $1000 per vehicle. I guess those 7 year auto loans will get even longer....

When the non-union plants opened in Tennessee etc...they provided much needed jobs at decent pay and benefits which were lacking in those areas. Do the UAW leaders still receive pay from the car manufacturers or are they paid entirely by union dues?

Why should I buy Mazda branded oil when I can get this Idemitsu oil for half the price?

My sister-in-law has 215k miles on her 2015 CX-5 with the 2.5 Skyactiv that she bought new. It hasn’t had Mazda brand oil in it since it’s 2nd or 3rd dealer OC…and even those were probably bulk oil. It also often went 7 or 8k OCIs. It’s still running great.

    Idemitsu 5w30 SP/GF-6 VOA

Does anybody know if the SN version of this oil was as ‘thin’ as this SP version? I ask because I have 2 jugs of it and I will run it in my 20 weight spec’d Focus if it is.

    AutoExtra 57002 from RA

I'll probably run it for a 5K OCI as I don't believe in throwing away money even if it's only $1.40. The one oil change that I didn't do on the Mazda was when my daughter was working in Charlotte NC and it needed an OC. She took it to Mieneke (or Midas) for a $79 synthetic OC and they used a $2...

    AutoExtra 57002 from RA

Last week I ordered some brake pads from Rockauto and as usual I looked around for parts shipped from the same warehouse to save on shipping. One item I bought was an 'AutoExtra' oil filter 57002 for our Mazda 2.5 Skyactive engine. The parts arrived yesterday and the 57002 is made in Mexico and...

Hopefully they keep them stocked.....and.....put them on 'Rollback' occassionally.

Autolite Iridium plugs in a Mazda 2.5 'Skyactive' engine.

Here's an update....the 2015 CX-5 that I put these Autolites in @172K now has 215K and it's still running fine on the Autolites. The Mazda has gotten less miles in the last few years because of 'work from home' but she's still purring along.
