I used to do very early OCs on new vehicles... at approx. 800 to 1200 miles but have since extended out to about 2500 miles after joining BITOG and seeing guys get 300K out of their vehicles by following the OLM. I think the first OC at 2500 to 3000 miles is a compromise between an early change...

My nephew used Valvoline CVT fluid in his 2018 Honda HRV and has no problems. He thinks it's running better than the Honda fluid that he later learned was changed just before he bought the vehicle (but that might be because 2 D&Rs got rid of more OE fluid).

My inlaw has well over 250K on her 2015 CX-5 w/ the Skyactiv 2.5 and I don't think it's had a filter without an ADBV since the first oil change it had. A filter with an ADBV won't cause any issues on a Skyactiv engine.

Are you asking if the Fram CORE with an ADBV is OK to use in a Skyactiv engine?....if so... I've used several Fram 6607's and even (oversized) 7317's without issues in our CX-30.

Gotcha. The biggest rats I've ever seen are NYC subway rats....they grow huge on the food that slobs haphazardly throw away and stay warm underground.

I used Valvoline Maxlife (red bottle), Valvoline Import (blue bottle) and Castrol Import MV in my daughters 2008 Elantra...all worked great. I don't think the SP-III spec. is so unique that 'multi vehicle' ATFs will hurt. OTOH, I stick with Mazda FZ approved (blue fluid) in her Mazda CX-30...
