Tig1, Yes this is the cartridge style filter. Kind of a PITA to change. I use purolator filters and they always look very clean.

Just an FYI my oil run was nearly all city miles, my trip computer showed average speed of 26mph. I do a 6 mile commute twice a day.

Ran this oil as my wife got this on sale (without my knowledge) at costco. I usually run Motorcraft semisyn 5W-20 with good results but heard good things about the Formula Shell so decided to try it out instead of returning it. Although it is thicker my gas mileage stayed the same.

I should've put that in there. purolator oil filter from pepboys. This engine uses the cartridge design.

I'm continuing with Motorcraft 5w-20 but I've heard (probably from people that don't know anything) that going up to 5W-30 in the summer would provide more protection.

FZ1- About 6 months on the oil. 60% city driving.
