Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is here

I agree, but I can get some good deals if patient at Sam's. Sometimes 6 quart boxes as low as $20. Usually between $20 and $30. I do like for ease of use and storing. I agree though at the singleton prices, no way I can justify that.

    Post your latest oil change

Daughter's 2003 Ford Focus 2.3 Duratec ZX5 170.8k Miles (6k OCI) I'm wrestling with crankcase ventilation issues, after changing out the PCV Valve/Hose, still struggline (will pull IM again to check oil separator, should have done it while there but didn't have a gasket and didn't want to risk...

    Post your latest oil change

361k miles; 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5 (Lima); RWD Manual Probably last oil change as I have a lower mileage replacement engine at a machine shop getting prepped to go in this spring. I suppose I could have waited but it was time and this engine deserves it. I used a Purolator filter and the...

What is the most you have spent on repairs, relative to the value of the car?

Same as above on my 1998 Ranger. I'll end up restoring it for about 6-8K. New engine, rebuilt transmission and **** near every part including the interior. It's at 360k miles now, I'll drive it til I'm done.

    New tool thread

Thanks, I'm pumped. I was still using a 15 year old NiCad PorterCable for all my drilling needs. I'll keep it since it's a hammer drill and one battery still works. I have a fence in bad shape, need to lightly sand and reseal my deck, my irrigation work just got easier, and not soon, but in the...

    New tool thread

Pulled the trigger. The brushless, "smart" battery, and tool quantity selection was just too good to pass up. Ended up $320 with tax and shipping. 5 year warranty, and if I want, a good supply of cheap aftermarket batteries, though the OE batteries are not terribly priced. I also liked the aux...

    New tool thread

Recycled question... Pros/Cons of someone (re) diving into cordless tool market. Applications: semi-serious DIY. So property work, auto work, home repair, etc, but NOT professional. My main questions are about the brushless value per dollar, need for "ecosystem", warranty, etc. I have a...

Please educate me about Trico's premium wipers

I have Rain X Silicone, very quiet (beam). For me now, including Trico, I only go RA. Their prices on wipers is nuts. The Rain X Silicone I think are 25 a pop at walmart, I got them for 13 ea at RA. Things like high end filters, wipers, or other replaceables I like to throw in on an order to...

Best Ratchets for the Money Today

To answer the original question, application is everything, as is the reality of your situation. What are you using it for? What is your budget? How important are certain characteristics? I would never buy a 350 dually because I don't need it and would never use it as intended. Objectively...
