I had McGard locking lug nuts on my Subaru. They were badly rusted after one winter and only 2500 miles. Never again. I believe that the company would replace them if I mailed them the rusted lug nuts. What good is that of the new ones rust just as easily.
For the Interstate batteries, perhaps this is similar to the batteries where the seller pulls away the cut outs to document the month, day, and year the battery was put into use for warranty purposes. This seemed more common in the past than it is today.

Those look terrible. I would contact McGard to see what they suggest. I have not had a problem in the past but have only used their security lug nuts ie 1 per wheel.
I will be doing some off-road driving and I prefer the flexibility the rubber valve stems provide ie less risk of damage from flying rocks . I do prefer the looks of metal stems but otherwise I have never had a problem getting accurate pressure readings on rubber stems.

Can someone explain what a diode is doing to improve charge voltage? It's possible that the X2 battery is just defective if no other source of battery drain is found.
