    Purolator Red Can longevity

I keep reading this but, have there actually been any documented cases of filter media tear on purolator one filters in the last 3 years?

Was I cheap to buy this used tire?

I would also have wanted the date code on the tire being sold on Ebay. The ad is no longer showing.

    16,106mi M1-212A failure C&P

Was the oil also not changed for 16,106 miles? If so, that is more than I would want to go.

    Lug nuts

I had McGard locking lug nuts on my Subaru. They were badly rusted after one winter and only 2500 miles. Never again. I believe that the company would replace them if I mailed them the rusted lug nuts. What good is that of the new ones rust just as easily.

    Microgard Select - No Love?

I agree! It is common for oil pressure to take a bit longer after an oil change. This isolated report is meaningless.

    WM battery date code

For the Interstate batteries, perhaps this is similar to the batteries where the seller pulls away the cut outs to document the month, day, and year the battery was put into use for warranty purposes. This seemed more common in the past than it is today.

    Replaced front brakes rotors

Some inconsequential surface rust, but otherwise, the old rotors look fine as well.

Vaseline on battery posts and cable connections?

All purpose automotive grease has worked well for me for many years.

How often do you check or replace your air filter ?

Once I install a filter, I don’t look at it until I’m ready to change it. Typically that’s around 30,000 miles. It’s my sense that a filter never seals to the airbox as well as it does in the first installation. Under my conditions if it seems too dirty at 30,000 miles I might shorten the...

Proper torquing of McGard Lug Nuts

Those look terrible. I would contact McGard to see what they suggest. I have not had a problem in the past but have only used their security lug nuts ie 1 per wheel.

I have been happy with 303 and never experienced any negative effects. I prefer the less glossy look.

Installing Rubber Valve Stems / Choice of Lubricant

I will be doing some off-road driving and I prefer the flexibility the rubber valve stems provide ie less risk of damage from flying rocks . I do prefer the looks of metal stems but otherwise I have never had a problem getting accurate pressure readings on rubber stems.

Installing Rubber Valve Stems / Choice of Lubricant

I am currently running some snow tires on my factory rims. I purchased some new Enkei wheels that I am prepping for A/S tires that will go on this spring. The Autel TPMS sensors will use rubber valve stems. I know that the normal installation of the valve stems would use standard tire mounting...

    X2 Battery Already Dead

Can someone explain what a diode is doing to improve charge voltage? It's possible that the X2 battery is just defective if no other source of battery drain is found.

Proper Lug Nuts / Security Nut for Enkei EKM3 Wheels

I appreciate everyone's help. Per DuckRyder's suggestion, I went to Summit Racing and found that the Enkei wheels I purchased will use a 60 degree Conical Lug Nut. I think for the moment, this answers my questions.

Proper Lug Nuts / Security Nut for Enkei EKM3 Wheels

I will be doing a winter summer wheel swap so good point about keeping the proper lug nuts in the vehicle. The new Outback does come with a compact spare but also has room for a full-size spare. On past vehicles I did upgrade the spare to full-size using used rims and tires.

Proper Lug Nuts / Security Nut for Enkei EKM3 Wheels

Discount Tire order automatically includes a lug nut and centering ring set as part of the online process. Just not sure if the quality will be what I am looking for.

Proper Lug Nuts / Security Nut for Enkei EKM3 Wheels

I just ordered new Enkei EKM3 wheels for my 2023 Subaru from Discount Tire online. They have not come in yet. This is my first set of aftermarket wheels and wanted to confirm the proper lug nuts. I would prefer spline nuts and probably a security feature as well. What is the proper taper etc...
