Small gas engine extreme cold start…help

I’m just going to try starter fluid. Never used…or needed it before. Supertech has one that is 50% ether.🤷‍♂️ Answer some questions/thoughts from your posts (by the way thanks everyone): No hydraulics… kinetic spitter. It’s a piece of 💩 BE engine 5 years old and MANY hours on it since I use it...

Small gas engine extreme cold start…help

Looking for ideas on a fuel additive that will help my gas wood splitter to start when it’s -10f. It’s getting older and just doesn’t like to start in such cold weather anymore. Last year I used a propane buddy heater when I needed to. While I have a couple of electric pad heaters meant for...

Super Tech 0w40 at US Walmart now

That’s what it shows for a regular price. Of course that’s the online price but we don’t have it in store here anyway. 🤷‍♂️ If I needed something quick, I would definitely try Super Tech over Mobil 1. Really wished Walmart would publish the PDS for their oil🧐.

Super Tech 0w40 at US Walmart now

Yes, it is surprisingly expensive. It’s $31 here. Castrol Edge Euro 0w40 is $24🤷‍♂️ Now that I am on Walmart+ I can get Castrol shipped to me free. Mobile was not nearly as good as Castrol for cold startups (-30f) Before getting Walmart+ this would have been a alternative to try. Living in...

Need new washer and dryer on budget

Suggest looking for a local appliance refurbishing company. We have one up here that takes in older/broken appliances, rebuild them, and then sells them cheap. Good products that have been combed over by techs and they also give a 6 month warranty.

2025 Trip to Alaska, advice welcome

Been through the Alcan twice, once in May. There is still a possibility of a late snow storm and icy conditions but generally, things are warming up. Fun starts north of Dawson and the first real hill to decend and climb. Try down shifting to save on brakes. Have good brakes? REAL fun starts...

COLD climate clothing for Fairbanks in Dec.

I agree with this. Try the rental place. Obviously we are all just blowing your budget with expensive winter gear when you were trying to get by cheap. This might be your cheapest bet and still keep warm. Besides, Fairbanks is like anywhere wlse in that the weather changes. It could be a balmy...

COLD climate clothing for Fairbanks in Dec.

Wool socks in boots that have at least 1000 gram thinsulate (or equivalent) Don’t go to walmart edit: (accept for the cheap long underwear, hats, turtleneck 🤪) Stop at sportsman warehouse If you get cheap, you’ll get cold. I have found that the warmest piece of clothing to wear is insulated...
