Shell Rotella T5 Diesel Oil - OK In Gasoline Engine?

I run diesel oil in all my gas engine beaters, never had an issue. 15w-40 all the way and for what is considered an extended OCI here where i live. Usually 20k kilometers which is around 12.5k miles.

    0w20 vs 5w30 Hybrid

I bought 0w20 preemptively. Now i have 2 5qt jugs of such oil. I will probably use the 0w20 in the beater and get some 5w30 for the newer car.

    0w20 vs 5w30 Hybrid

Recently got a hybrid car. In the USA they spec 0w20 and overseas they spec 5w30. Im not from the US just in case. Would 0w20 really flow that much better from the constant start/stops of a hybrid engine or the 5w30 would provide better protection? Ambient temp never gets below 23-24c which is...

    Anyone here still using 15w40?

I use it on multiple gasoline econoboxes and in a small commercial gasoline van. All of them get the cheapest 15W-40 i can find from any reputable brand. Since they come overloaded with additives, i run extended OCIs on them.

    Nissan CVT fluids

Yeah, other options like Castrol or Valvoline are like $6 a quart, you could basically drain and refill every OCI and still save money. I am doing a drain and refill every OCI just for the heck of it. Takes 3 quarts in a Jatco CVT7.

    Nissan CVT fluids

Since its a 2004 id say go for the cheapest one. Personally im using Castrol Transmax CVT in a Jatco specced for NS3 and it works great. Just my opinion, i wouldnt use Valvoline, the spec sheets shows its thinner than NS3 while the Castrol is thicker. NS2 used to be around 7.2cst, NS3 seems to...

New Firearms CLP or Lube You Want To Try ?

Currently use a 10+ year old bottle of Hoppes Elite Performance gun oil and Chevron 10W-30 conventional. Still use both but i prefer the engine oil. Hoppes seems "drier" after being stored a couple days.

New Firearms CLP or Lube You Want To Try ?

No scientific data but ive come to the conclusion that engine oil is better for the sole fact that it does not dry out in a couple days. I apply a thin film and it will stay there for at least a couple weeks or a month or two.

Jatco/Nissan CVT Drain & Refill with Pictures

Took me 3 quarts on this CVT. I can do a how to guide but without the pictures since i dont have any aside from the ones posted above. Figured a way to remove the cap, all those Youtube videos proved worthless to me. The easiest way is to grab a flat head screwdriver, insert it through the hole...

Jatco/Nissan CVT Drain & Refill with Pictures

Did a drain & refill just because i felt the transmission wasnt as smooth as it should. Brand new car with a little over 8K miles only. Dont know what ATF should smell like but it didnt smell burnt, color was a very dark green when in a cup and in the paper towel it still looked very very...

    Pistol slide wear

Ive thought about using engine oil as gun oil since gun oil seems to evaporate/dry too fast. Ive been using some very old Hoppes Elite Performance oil that i had laying around. Does engine oil attract more dust/dirt/carbon to surfaces or its the same as gun oil?
