    2013 Ford Explorer 3.5L

I decided to go with Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 and the stock FL-500S filter. Wal-Mart had 5 qt jugs for $24.97 with an instant $5 off each, plus a send-in offer for a $10 Shell card. The actual change wasn't too bad. The is the first Ford that I've had that doesn't require you to let oil run all...

    2013 Ford Explorer 3.5L

The mileage varies greatly depending on how it is driven. On the trip from Oklahoma City to Florida I averaged around 23. However, I managed to pull off 26 from Dallas to Oklahoma City. From what I can tell so far the onboard mileage calculation is fairly accurate. The more I use the cruse...

    2013 Ford Explorer 3.5L

I have a 2013 Explorer with a 3.5L Duratec engine. I'd like to follow the OLM recommendations. Definitely running the Motorcraft filters. I've looked all over for UOAs for the new Explorers and have only found one. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=372188 Of course Ford...

    Suggestions for 2008 F-150 4.2L V6

Hallmark, thanks, I didn't realize that. Sure enough, it looks like the only 5w20 is a blend. That makes me feel better about its previous changes. I have to admit that a 10k OCI is tempting. Its due up at 42k (the 7k OCI). I have a Blackstone kit that I haven't used, so I may send some off to...

    Suggestions for 2008 F-150 4.2L V6

I have a 2008 F-150 4.2L V6 with around 39,500 miles. Previous owner followed the manual recommendation of 7k OCIs using Motorcraft 5w20 dino and Motorcraft filters. I'm not sure about using that oil for 7k OCIs, but would prefer to go with the longer interval rather than shrink back to 5k...
