    another layer to action bedding

ok, here's the story: I was bedding the action of a rifle with a synthetic stock. Now there was some gun-oil on the stock's bedded areas but I thought I cleaned it all out with carb cleaner. I did use non-stick coating on the action. To cut the story short, after hardening, the epoxy decided to...

2004 Buick burning oil at 32000 miles

Hey guys, All of a sudden my Buick started burning oil. The usual OCI is 6`250 miles (by the oil life monitor) and up to 30`000 miles it didn't require any oil top-up. But then it needed 1 qt before the 32`000. And another one before 35`000. There's no dripping on the driveway and the plugs are...

    bluing

I didn't kick the gal who kicked my rifles because she's a girl and violence in a gun-laden environment didn't seem like a good idea at the time :) Back to the issue, I intend to give Blue Wonder a try. The hot bluing techniques based on lye and ammonia nitrate are too dangerous to even think...

    bluing

Two of my rifles were kicked to the ground at the range. I managed to polish out the scratches and now I need to blue the spots. The usual cold bluing stuff does not look ok. What do you recommend?

    ATF change @ 18000mi ?

Hi, I went to the GM dealer today for some service. My Buick has just passed 18,000mi and the tech suggested an ATF flush. I told him the book says ATF flush @ 100,000mi or more (like never). He said the GM techies always recommend ATF flushes @18,000-20,000mi Am I missing something ?

    [mc] Yamaha VStar whining sound

I've taken my VStar 1100 motorcycle to the dealer for the first service. That is oil, filter, final gear oil change; valve/carb adjustment. In order to get more power I got a new set of exhaust pipes and air intake (rejetting reqd). What I got a a bonus is this noise at idle. What could be the...
