Stihl New 4 stroke using 2 stroke fuel mix

Well I did something out of character yesterday. My Stihl Dealer is a one man operation and an Elite Dealer. I have dealt with him for several years and you won't find a better, more trustworthy small business ANYWHERE! So, since I trusted him, after going in for a new, CHEAP line trimmer, when...

Does BG MOA contain any ZDDP?

Well, here I am posting in two places again, to make sure I get noticed. I promise to find the proper forum next time and post only there. Thanks to everyone here, I, the BobIsTheOilGuy rookie, learned about VOA and found the information. NOW, am I correct to assume that those numbers are in...

Does BG MOA Contain any ZDDP?

Okay guys, thanks VERY much for the help and pointing me in the right direction. As a BobIsTheOilGuy rookie, I did not know what VOA was. I now know and have a new source of detailed information at my fingertips thanks to everyones guidance. NOW! I want to make sure I understand what I looked...

Does BG MOA Contain any ZDDP?

I found a case of BG MOA in my late Fathers garage. I need a ZDDP additive for an old Ford engine that I'm rebuilding. The MSDS sheet for this stuff shows one big, long word for Naptha and another big, long word for some Butane element. My opinion of BG products for many years is that their...

Does BG MOA contain any ZDDP?

I found a box full of BG MOA in my late Fathers garage. I have a need for zinc additive for an old Ford engine I am rebuilding. I have not been able to confirm that this stuff contains ZDDP. The MSDS sheet shows a big, long word that sounds like Naptha, and another big long word that sounds...

    flushing engine with Kerosene

In the old days (yes, I'm plenty old enough to remember them) I flushed a "few" crankcases with kerosene. The engines, AND the oils were WAAAaaaayyyy.... different then. Too many people insisted on running oils like Amalie and Havoline that turned to tar. This was aggravated by road draft tubes...

what is the best way to get all old old out?

I did not read all posts in this lengthy thread, but I am sure there are many who scoff at wanting a squeaky clean crankcase and internals. I'm an old codger who drove lots of miles in the days of [censored] oils and engines that were good for 100,000 miles if taken care of. Since I began...

    Need oil for 1935 Plymouth

I wouldn't give oil choice for this application any more than about 5 seconds of thought. I would put in Chevron Delo or one of the equivalents such as Rotella T or Delvac and never look back.

Recommendations for 2006 Mini Cooper S

My wife bought a Mini in the early 2005 model year. It has seen nothing but Mobil One full synthetic with change intervals between 7,500 and 10,000 miles. The car now has 151,000 miles and runs great with no need to add oil between changes.

Modern Substitute for Type A ATF

I have a '64 Ford Galaxie with the earliest of the C4 transmissions. It calls for Type A ATF. Can Dexron/Mercon be substituted? BTW, on this car I also deal with the flat tappet ZPPD additive issue. My solution is oil changes with Chevron Delo 15W40 and a half a bottle of Comp Cams break in...
