Will any VW recommended oil help get rid of, or not add as much to the intake valve deposits?

I know there are some euro ones that are crazy expensive. I was just wondering because I have heard some people claim the M1 breaks down pretty quickly. I was just trying to find the best between PU euro, amsoil euro, M1, and german castrol.

I have heard good things about Pennzoil platinum is that a PAO. Also what exactly makes made you think Pennzoil is the best choice. Does it hold up well to short trips in the cold? Also long 9 hour trips? What type of wear protection does it offer?
