Prime BMW oil pump or starve your bearings?

Lol that's where the accusump guys put their accusump hose. Real oem even tells you the thread size and pitch so all you really need is to buy the fittings.

Prime BMW oil pump or starve your bearings?

interesting. The best place to put it is the oil filter housing, on some N55's that have the oil cooler hoses on the bottom side the top of the oil filter housing has screw holes that will allow a fitting to be threaded in.

Prime BMW oil pump or starve your bearings?

I have 2, one for my diff the other for my transmission. I really don't think that'll generate any where near priming 50 psi. Also the hoses would blow off before you reached any meaningful pressures.

Prime BMW oil pump or starve your bearings?

Exactly what you are supposed to do. Also I wanted to note that you are also supposed to let the starter cool for a bit between priming cycles just to avoid wear and tear. But yes on the N55 I have seen that when priming there somethings is not enough pressure to get the oil into the OFH area...

Prime BMW oil pump or starve your bearings?

Ok I have a few comments on this: 1) Yes any job disrupting the oil supply (except oil changes and oil filter changes) must require oil system priming or it will cause rod bearing seizures due to air pockets. 2) When priming the oil system disconnect injectors and not the LPFP because your...

    Redline DCTF any good?

Yeah I definitely will report back.

    Redline DCTF any good?

Yeah I'm going to use it on my m2, the manual on that car uses low viscosity fluid and dctf is suitable for mtf lt5 requirements that bmw requests. I also wanted something to maybe improve shifting and remove some of the knotchiness that the stock pentosin made fluid (likely ffl3) is giving me.

    Redline DCTF any good?

Yeah I'm gonna give it a shot on my m2.

    Redline DCTF any good?

so no one has used redline dctf?

    Redline DCTF any good?

I was just wondering if anyone here has ever used redline dctf and if they had any opinions on it. Also if anyone has ever used redline DCTF on a bmw manual transmission requiring MTF LT-5 fluid I would love to know how your experience was. Thanks!

    Pennzoil platinum euro 5w40 HTHS

I hope pennzoil's HTHS rating can stay consistent at 3.8 and not keep dropping and increasing with every reformulation. It sucks because they don't post any of this so it is hard to keep track.

    Pennzoil platinum euro 5w40 HTHS

Yeah Pennzoil is pretty thin for a 5w40, but if it really is 3.8 then the base stock is robust as hell.

    Pennzoil platinum euro 5w40 HTHS

I still wonder if anyone with connections to shell can verify if 3.8 hths is legit.

    Pennzoil platinum euro 5w40 HTHS

Never mind I lied, I found a bunch of threads about it being reformulated to SN+ specs in 2019. So likely those 2016 numbers were inaccurate for today's specs.

    Pennzoil platinum euro 5w40 HTHS

I really hope so because that would be awesome if it was. But back in in 2016 the HTHS rating was 3.6 and think it was also GTL back then as well and I am unaware of any reformulations so that's why I have some slight suspicions.
