How Can Both Part Numbers Be The Right One?

Well, after 24 years of faithful service, the Lesabre's Compressor went all sparky on me and there are now metal shards surrounding the compressor clutch. In my search for replacement parts, I have a Delphi Technologies Compressor, a GM Drier/Evaporator, and am trying to purchase the 'CORRECT'...

    Alternator or Battery?

I recently had issues with my LeSabre keeping a battery charge. I had the battery tested, and it checked out really well. Tested my alternator with a voltmeter and discovered that, while it seems to be putting out the voltage to charge the battery, the voltage regulator seems to be shorting out...

Can someone clarify the Fram situation?

Your comment got me thinking. I wonder if the theoretical increase in filtration efficiency of the ultra after the wire mesh was removed is due to the fact that there is more room inside the filter for media, which potentially increases the efficiency? If that turns out to be the case, I would...

No more Ethanol free gas in Canada?

In southern Ontario (outside of Toronto), Shell premium, VPower still is ethanol, free. The premium I purchase at Costco here is also ethanol free, and there are “a few, select“ Esso stations that are occasionally listed as ethanol free. But figuring out which Esso has E0 is a bit of a crapshoot.

I need a long lasting fuel efficient vehicle (not a hybrid, electric, or PHEV)

Model year, 2023 dodge charger or Chrysler 300 with the Penta star V6. One of the last I CE powered vehicles available with an engine that is neither turbo charged nor DI. Each of these is available with the ZF8 speed automatic, which is highly regarded. Reliability over the last several years...

does power steering fluid need to be changed?

I can see it both ways. For those folks who don’t keep a vehicle long enough to rack up. Lots of miles, it may not be useful. But for folks, such as yourself who keep a vehicle for a while and attain higher mileage, it makes lots of sense to swap out the fluid to preserve the steering...

Chi, thanks a lot Mann and Hummel

Took me a while, but I finally found the images I had taken with another phone in fairly good sunlight of the internals. I do notice the pattern of the steel centre is not slotted, but made with holes.

A VERY Loud Problem! Horn is Possessed!

Oh? I had completely not even thought of that dumkid. My granddad's car had one of those big buttons he would mash with his foot to engage the high beams. Maybe a lot of GM vehicles (maybe other brands too) had them. May I ask you if the switch you wired was marketed as one for the floor or just...

A VERY Loud Problem! Horn is Possessed!

Good suggestion CarDoc66, but no, it happened when the car was sitting and not running at all. Never had issue with it happening with steering wheel turned.

A VERY Loud Problem! Horn is Possessed!

Well, after finally getting a car that has a nice, loud, and usable volume of sound, don't you know that it turned on yesterday all by itself. I've checked the following: 1. Underhood Relay and Fuse all good 2. Inside fuse in passenger fusebox all good 3. Horns definitely work (as my ringing...

Chi, thanks a lot Mann and Hummel

I went to purchase a few new oil filters that I like to use which are the Carquest premium oil filters made as a private label by Mann and Hummel. I thought I had remembered them having been made in USA and so I went and purchased them again and neglected to check to see if any changes have been...
