Wouldn’t worry about it at all. The 3 Toyotas I service all require somewhere from 4.4-4.7 qts and I dump the entire 5QT bottle in every time. It’s always right on the full line every time for every vehicle.
Hi all,
Just to give an update, attached is the fluid spec sheet provided to me by Genesis. Interestingly enough they say the transfer case oil is not available from the Hyundai lubricants program. I have settled on using Ravenol DTF 1 for this purpose.
Adding this for anyone looking at...
I'll need to source an equivalent to TCF 1 (can't find anywhere to buy online stateside). The one thing I did find about the older Magna transfer cases is they seem to specify a slightly different fluid. Unfortunately I haven't heard back from the dealership yet, but may give them a call and ask...
Wow, thanks everyone for the great responses.
That's a great start. I didn't even think of that. I've emailed them asking if they stock and sell the lubricants, will see what they carry.
jghall00, I'll need to look into that transfer case oil number from Hyundai. I see it's for ATF SP 4 M1...
HI All,
I need a little help. I have a 2023 Genesis GV80 (Prestige AWD) in which I am struggling to find a suitable fluid for the transfer case. The rear diff is an eLSD, which specifies Shell TF0870 C. For this I think I am going to use Ravenol DTF1.
The transfer case specifies Fuchs ATF 134...
Chevy quality. Great way to describe it. I was looking at the CT5-V (not Blackwing) and was turned off by the interior plastics. I thought the rear seat area looked like it belonged in a Malibu not a Caddy.
I use HPL No Vii (5w-30) in my 3.5t GV80. Good stuff. If you want to run 0 vs 5w-30 you won't notice a difference. I think the very specific call out for 0w is to push owners to slightly higher quality oils as 0w oils generally have better base stocks than 5w. Not in call cases though (e.g. HPL...
When I used to buy ethanol free gas for my old car (can’t get it in high enough octane near me for my new car) I would add 2 oz of gumout high mileage to 3 oz of Lucas UCL (kept a few of those 5 oz Lucas bottles in my trunk with this concoction) and add a 5oz bottle of this every fill up...
After watching Lake Speed Jrs latest video comparing several oils including Redline & HPL No Vii, I was intrigued by the high TEOST Deposit weight score both HPL & Redline received.
I am wondering what would cause these two top tier oils to receive such a score. Would this be due to the high...
Have been reading through this thread bit by bit for the last few months, great info and awesome to see the passion HPL have in their products. Received my stash of 5w30 NO VII the other day and did my oil change yesterday.
Have been using Redline 5w30 for the last few years in my previous...
