Pennzoil joins the 20k mile club?

This! That's the reason why i follow the maintenance minder with the Civic (old, proven K24 and almost no oil dilution) and why i run 0w20, not 0w16, and absolutely wont go to the recomended 16k km ever with the Prius. An absolute fuel dilution monster.. Might even try 5w30 during summer..

32k.. hard pass! Oil is cheap, engines aren't...

Can't decide between Amsoil and Redline

Beats me! But everytime i go Redline on that K24, it's noticeably, buttery smooth. But now i use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum because i can have it at about 30$ for 5 liters and frankly, it's a perfectly fine oil. Redline is about 25$ a Liter so.....

Yes. I like that i can have it at a bargain a couple of times a year at Canadian Tire.

Can't decide between Amsoil and Redline

Redline Pros: My K24 is quieter/smoother on Redline HP 5w30 then just any other oils.. AMSoil Pros: My L15 was sparking clean at 180k km of AMSoil SS use. Cons? Can't think of any for both brands.. really..

2025 Toyota Prius Prime 1200km on the clock. Out:Factory Toyota 0w16 and 10009 filter. In:Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20 and 10010 filter. As a side note, my Japanese made M20A-FXS had a whole lot less debris in the factory filter then my brother's A25A-FXS (US or Canadian Made?? Do they build...

    VRP is in Canada!

Good news, i might try some in the Civic. It doesn't consume oil but it's high milleage AF. It would be perfect for it as it doesn't see much use now anyway. Perhaps 4 or 5k km per Summer so i would'nt be too concerned by the fact that it's not a ED friendly oil.

'17 Civic: Dealer says A/C Compressor, Condenser, & Evaporator are all leaking

All warranties are free money!! I work for a dealership. On a side note (edit) i never understood why some dealerships scoffs at warranty work. Dealer gets paid by HQ, customer is happy and returns for something else, techs doesn't get unemployed, etc....

That a great oil. I buy something like 10 jugs of it when it's on sale at Canadian tire for, like 30$ for 5l.. that and the 15$ mail in rebate from SOPUS makes it an absolute winner.

CRV 18k mi OCI, significant sludge buildup

Meh.. i mean, i mostly followed the MM on my 2012 Civic Si and even "forgot" to change the oil filter one time when i went to paternity leave (see below) and the engine is still perfectly fine more then 300k miles later.. might consume a cup of oil per OCI.. might.. not even sure.. So about...

It’s the 1990’s: what motor oil and grade are you using?

Used a lot of Valvoline in my cars back then. Would probably use Restore & Protect if they would sell it in Canada at a good price.

    Pick My Oil And Filter

Had nothing but good results so far with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum so that would get my vote. As for the filter, a Fram Endurance would be my choice as it's what i would consider to be the new Fram Ultra and my Civic Si is still running like new at a hair over 300k miles running those filters..

Better or higher oil psi with Toyota oil filter

I assure you we see engines with hundreds of thousands of miles daily at the dealership where i work. Some of us, myself included, just want the best! Now, what is the best, that can be left open to interpretation.. :)

Better or higher oil psi with Toyota oil filter

Exactly what i was going to say. Toyota oil filters aren't really that great, filtration wise.. so they might be less restrictive.. that being said, can the filter be influential enough to be a factor..?
