I can think of a reason to keep a car.
If said car were a total loss, and insurance paid actual cash value for it, through comp, which does NOT affect rates adversely, would a person be glad to take that money, and be done with the vehicle? If the answer is no, then, a person is justified in...
I’m trying to find something to worry about, and it’s not hard. I’m the type who leaves for a week long getaway, and spends the first 5 days worrying if I locked the door or not 😂
If it were me I’d keep the tank full. Can’t fully remember the reason maybe to fight condensation, but I had decided that years ago listening to the topic being debated.
It could be turned into a game and everyone could have fun while helping the vehicle. Pretend it’s like the movie Speed with Keanu Reaves and if the vehicle goes under 50 mph it will explode. Once it’s gone 30 miles, pretend the game finished and head home.
This is sound financial advice and actually what some young people would do. But in the meantime I still feel 100 mile oil changes really don’t accomplish anything. I can’t see changing the oil until 1,000 miles or it’s just being silly and a waste of money and natural resources
I really wouldn’t worry about it at all. At 200 miles per year imho nothing is gained by changing it every 100 miles. Get ready for folks to crawl out of the woodwork in disagreement 😂
It’s another one of those things where on a YouTube channel it creates controversy then gets likes and hits and subscribes. And in the end doesn’t matter too much.
Went to take a look at our new car that came in on Thursday. Not going to pick it up until next Thursday, as I need to get a bank check from an internet bank. Since I had no idea when it would actually arrive, just an idea around 8/11, I didn't want to have the money not earning interest. It...
I'm probably out of touch because this came up 2X today. My wife said our friend's daughter has a new car and cost her parents $30k, so the mom had to get a second job and that's why we never see her anymore. I literally let out a, "WHAT??!!" Important here is 16 years old, $30k.
Then, my...
Have to admit CR-V strikes me as a great young driver’s car. Utility and I don’t see them messing around in that. My mom had a 2005 and it was a very good car. My dad wrecked it….
Our friends gave their son a Lexus when he turned 16. Not brand new, about 5 yo. Knowing the kid, I think he’s a decent kid and fortunate. His parents send him to a prep school and pay just as much for his ice hockey every year. They are not rich and really sacrifice for their two kids.
Rhetorical question as I have an 11 yo. Is there an assumption that a teen cannot research vehicles on their own, and that they must be given a car when they turn 16
It truly does. We were planning to get a Chevy Tahoe in 2027 when the next V8 comes out. No idea our 13.5 yo Enclave would be taking my son to go hockey on Sunday, and on a Monday it would be on its way to Copart. It made me sick to see what list prices on cars are in 2025 and I had zero...
