I've done a few. Not too hard to remove. Google "2004 Buick Lesabre instrument cluster removal". A few hidden screws and some trim that just snaps out/in.
Once you get it out, if your good at de-soldering and re-soldering, you can buy GM stepper motors on Ebay cheap, around six bucks.

Did three GM V6's in the last year. 2 of the 3.4 liter, and one 3.8. First one was on a Chevy Venture minivan. Access was difficult. Other two were on midsize cars, much easier.
Not too difficult for a DIYer with a little experience.
Used FelPro Permadry on all of them. Hopefully will outlast...

Yep, I'm replacing a set tomorrow in a 3.8 2004 LeSabre.
Problems ended with Gen III 3.8 in 2005 IIRC.

AE with the enhanced packages would fit my needs, can't justify the price. Most of the work I do is on friends/family vehicles, so my labor is donated. Hard to recoup my scanner costs when my revenue is zero.
