“China cheapens everything. No offense. That's what they do copy“
Nope. American corporations move their manufacturing there because it’s cheaper. Don’t blame the Chinese. Blame American companies.
I hear you about depression-era hoarding. My grandparents and to some extent parents were the same way - SE Colorado near the Oklahoma Panhandle border during the dust bowl years.
I appreciate the advice.
As part of listing and selling my home, I want to move my power tools from my mostly unheated garage (it never really gets below 45F) to a nearby storage unit, which won't be heated. I anticipate a few months of storage. Unfortunately, winter here in Colorado is coming.
Anyone see a problem...
I appreciate the info. I’ll have a look at those.
I swapped the factory oil with Redline at about 10,000 miles. The last two fills have been with Amsoil GL 4 and it seems as smooth as the Redline.
The owners manual doesn’t even call for the driveline fluids to be changed. But I do it anyway...
I still have the original brakes (front and rear) at 92k miles. I recently had them checked and they said they're still fine. I am very easy on vehicles. So I imagine the clutch itself is fine, too. :)
I have a 2015 Tacoma, and the throwout bearing is making a chirping sound. It has been doing it for a while, and I thought it was an idler pulley or the fan belt.
But my mechanic has correctly diagnosed it as the throwout bearing.
He wants to put a Luk clutch assembly in. About 300 bucks. But...
I usually run synthetic oil and Fram Ultra, but I decided to try this filter along with Pennzoil conventional 5W-30.
I didn’t notice any drop in gas mileage using conventional oil in my 2015 Tacoma V-6.
Appears to be a well made filter fabrique en Thailand and purchased at Walmart for about $6.
I bought a 5 quart jug of Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage 5W-30 at Walmart using my new Walmart Plus account.
I forgot that that Walmart Plus delivery, even though it says free, isn't. They use DoorDash which tacks on $7 for delivery.
That’s a Tacoma, right? On mine the tiny drain port became clogged with dust and debris and it overflowed rather than drained. I had to push a thin rod though to clean it. Something to watch out for.
Have a 2002 Odyssey. I don’t know how equivalent they are, but when I switched to the 5-30, oil consumption immediately stopped. I have about three years and 50,000 miles on the 5-30 with no issues
If my Mac FW accepts valid certificates without question, I am not sure that turning it on really gives me much more protection than my router if the private key has been compromised.
