Any one put in an actual air filter on 3.0 mercruiser in place the spark aresror? Is there a downside to using air filter?
Rebuilt mercarb the other day and it wasn’t all that clean. Seems air filter would be a good option.
Changed out the external filter on my ‘15 GMC with 6L80. Did cut open the filter, looks like it half up great being in service for four years. Only put ~ 16,000 miles on it. Next time will run for probably five years. Seem like there was a lot of fine particles inside the filter.

Jeeping, what kind of Buell do you have and what's the average climate you deal with? Being in the Houston area, cold isn't usually a huge factor, so maybe ATF isn't that bad of a deal in the primary.
