Are Chinese tires really that bad?

I had Kumhos. They were decent, didn't last long though my alignment was probably to blame.

What are you working on today?

Thanks, I'll give those a look. Symptoms right now are cranking no start at cold start until I go open the hood and wiggle on the PCM connectors, then it fires up. Pressing same connectors, can cause car to stall/want to die. Not really wanting to drive it around: it died on me while driving...

Are oil filter cap wrenches useless?

It seems like whenever I have an overly tight filter (usually on my parent's cars after they take them to a quick-lube place) and I'm having a hard time removing them, the cap wrenchs I have ARE useless. Strained my forearm trying to get one loose last time.

What are you working on today?

Trying to figure out my 4.0L ZJ starting/stalling gremlin. Narrowed it down to the PCM or PCM connection.

Why do auto parts stores not carry bolts needed for cars

They'd have to house a lot of bolts. You could try your local Grainger.

    Good plastic/trim restorer?

+1 for Cerakote. I originally used them for the headlight restoration kit and was impressed with it that I tried the trim restorer and it's lasted way longer than any of the other sprays that I've used. For ease of use and time to apply, I'm very pleased with it.

Post your Gas Mileage : Calculated

1999 Civic, 285k on the original engine and transmission, 90% highway trip that was mostly flat, was 33mpg calculated. Was nice to see above 30 as most mixed city/highway is 28-30 mpg even driving not with a lead foot.

What are you working on today?

It showed 12.5x volts. Battery is about 5 years old rarely driven but is always on the BatteryTender.

What are you working on today?

Just cleaned all the battery terminals and put those felt pads since Amazon put a pack in my last delivery and didn't want them back. Bought a cheap $20 12v battery tester and trying to determine if it or the BatteryTender is off: car that has been in garage for about a year on the...

Average new car price is $50K ? Insanity.

I remember when I thought $40K was a lot because that is what around what new Corvettes sold for when I started driving.
