    2006 Mazda 3 A/C Condenser replacement question

Does the radiator and condenser need to be removed as a whole, or can I seperate beforehand? Also, this will not be on a lift, jack stands at best or does it come out with the bumper cover removed? Looks to be nestled in there a bit, the bumper cover is fairly quick to remove so that won't be an...

Window tint options for heat rejection

Definitely ask your installer about the ceramics as those by nature can give a blue cast at low sun angles, midday sun is not really as much an issue. Also, get a reading on your glass before the tint is applied, and compare with the tinted glass. Some glass has minimal heat rejection so be sure...

Window tint options for heat rejection

I have the haze with the Suntek, but not with the Llumar

    New tool thread

Sharing tools with the kids, as I know all well growing up how they can be misplaced. Seems there is a target tool size that I feel many can attest to. My son came through for Fathers Day...:)

Snap-on tool prices are out of sight.

With Snap-On, how many times do you purchase the product and pay for your own warranty? I'm not in the loop of the finances of Snap-On, but I don't see how their tools can command these prices. Are you telling me they can't profit off even a $50 spark plug socket...or a more reasonable $25...

First thoughts on the New F1 changes and broadcast.

Maybe we should remove the ICE, slow the cars to a max speed of 100 MPH, make it more of a video game....leave experience out of the equation. Looks like it's heading that way...or we could bring back what F1 really is. Best cars with the best drivers competing at the highest level providing...

Window tint options for heat rejection

Correct. For the windshield it would be mainly for heat rejection. I have some lower tier Suntek in another vehicle that has legal film on both front doors, but the light blue haze bugs me in early AM. However the heat rejection is a very welcomed feature. Next tint job is going to be either the...

What can I use to clean and treat GM leather seats?

Not sure what the OE material is, I've tried the Lexol but doesn't seem to be the ideal product...maybe I'm wrong. I have light dirt on these surfaces, in my 2012 Yukon with perforations for the cooling air. What is the safest and most effective cleaner/treatment for these seats that some have...

Window tint options for heat rejection

Thanks, I'm going for legal on the front doors but cannot do windshield, unless I want to remove it every year or find someone who doesn't care. A clear windshield IR film would be sweet.

First thoughts on the New F1 changes and broadcast.

This is the first season for me in decades, that I haven't watched one F1 race. If I wanted to watch formula E I would. We have Top Fuel dragsters, NASCAR, IMSA, SCCA, BTCC, Indy car, midget, sprint, drifting, unlimited hydroplanes, drag boats, monster trucks, tractor pulls, airplanes in...

Window tint options for heat rejection

I'm looking at either Llumar IRX or Autobahn Ceramic i3. The Autobahn is 3 layer and I'm concerned about optical clarity, especially at night. I have had good luck with Llumar in the past but never used IRX, so I'm curious about the i3. My goal is for maximum heat rejection while retaining...

Need help identifying noise, Mazda 2.0L

I could try that, I should have mentioned earlier it's not my car but I'm thinking of possibly buying it, this noise definitely gave me some pause and concern. It does, I agree but the growl is a new one ...usually they have a higher pitched noise, this almost completely mimics a PS pump but...

Should be audible now. I'm thinking the A/C clutch.

Need help identifying noise, Mazda 2.0L

AC compressor is almost under the crank pulley, was able to get a stethoscope on the hard line leaving the compressor, noise was isolated to that area, alternator, idler, water pump were quiet. Here's a better video.

Need help identifying noise, Mazda 2.0L

Fan was actually not running, the whirring noise at the beginning of the video is audible from standing over 20' away. Mimics a PS pump that's low on fluid. I will try for a better video when I get a chance.
