Need help identifying noise, Mazda 2.0L

I could try that, I should have mentioned earlier it's not my car but I'm thinking of possibly buying it, this noise definitely gave me some pause and concern. It does, I agree but the growl is a new one ...usually they have a higher pitched noise, this almost completely mimics a PS pump but...

Should be audible now. I'm thinking the A/C clutch.

Need help identifying noise, Mazda 2.0L

AC compressor is almost under the crank pulley, was able to get a stethoscope on the hard line leaving the compressor, noise was isolated to that area, alternator, idler, water pump were quiet. Here's a better video.

Need help identifying noise, Mazda 2.0L

Fan was actually not running, the whirring noise at the beginning of the video is audible from standing over 20' away. Mimics a PS pump that's low on fluid. I will try for a better video when I get a chance.

Need help identifying noise, Mazda 2.0L

I'll try to get a better video, but in the beginning, the whirring sounds like a hollow, plastic sound. No change if I opened the oil cap though.

Need help identifying noise, Mazda 2.0L

This is a 2006 Mazda 3 with the 2.0L and 5 speed. 140K miles and it sounds like a telltale power steering pump whine from a distance but I think this has electric power steering. No change in pitch if the alternator is loaded up, but it does change when the air conditioner is cycled. I don't...

External filter options for 6L80E, is it safe?

I did order one, going to remove the cooler line from the radiator to the cooler and use 2 Hayden 397 fittings and a length of hose. That way I can return to stock if needed. Yeah, as soon as it fell in I thought I should have zip tied each corner..lol. No worries as it had some miles on it so...

External filter options for 6L80E, is it safe?

If I do end up getting this OE pan removed in the future, it will sit until I have the Dorman pan installed..lol. Mainly so whatever is on the bottom of the pan could drain out. I do however use a Hayden 397 fitting in the top radiator port and remove the fluid that way, at least it gets most of...

    Removing TCC slip from 6L80E

I should have been more clear, I was wondering if the thrust bearing could take on additional stress with the TCC zeroed out. Sorry if that sounded backwards. I assume not, but was curious.

    Removing TCC slip from 6L80E

Ok, thanks. Was also curious about the thrust bearing but I would assume it shouldn't have any associated issues but not sure.

    Removing TCC slip from 6L80E

I have just recently turned my DOD off, but didn't mess with anything else related to that except change the torque ramp to speed ramp.

    Removing TCC slip from 6L80E

Using HPT, I'm debating removing the TCC desired slip and setting to 0. I wanted to ask first if there could be any drawbacks to this, I assume GM did this for a reason other than the likelihood of felt jerkiness...maybe not. Does it also act as a "cushion"for torque applied and maybe dampen the...

TPMS tool for checking battery life, and programming

That is a good deal, I did however grab the 580+4 sensors from Advanced last night with the discount.

    2023 Mach-E Tires down to 4/32nds after 29.7K miles.

EV's make it pretty easy to rip from 0-60 in 4 seconds or less.....have to get the traction from somewhere. Accelerating and braking those heavy vehicles wears tires out quick. If I floored my SUV from every light and did a leisurely mid 6 second 0-60 my tires would be smoked very early. EV's...

TPMS tool for checking battery life, and programming

I think the X-Tool is limited to X-Tool sensors with some features...not 100% sure Thanks for the link, at the top of their page it shows it's 20% off with that coupon code but won't accept the code for me..will need to dig more on it.
